Job summary

DSS Takara Bio India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Takara Bio Inc., is building a high-performance commercial model in Karnataka with Bangalore as a key growth market. The Regional Business Manager will lead relationships with biopharma, genomics labs, diagnostics, CRO/CDMOs, academia, startups and research organizations across Karnataka.

This is a leadership role to establish a strong direct sales presence, manage the regional team, and coordinate with national sales, product managers, and marketing

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing strategic accounts and sales teams.
• Ability to sell consultatively to scientists, procurement teams and senior management.
• Strong commercial discipline, CRM orientation and field leadership.
• Experience working with both direct sales and channel/dealer models.

Responsibilities

• Own revenue, growth, gross margin and strategic account development for Karnataka.
• Build and execute account plans for top customers across Bangalore/Karnataka.
• Lead direct account development in key accounts such as biopharma, genomics, diagnostics, academia, CRO/CDMOs and biotech startups.
• Reduce overdependence on dealer-led selling by building strong direct customer relationships.
• Manage and develop the regional sales team.
• Work closely with national sales, product managers, application specialists, marketing and dealer partners.
• Build a disciplined operating rhythm around CRM, pipeline reviews, field visits, demos, seminars and account reviews.

Primary Role: DSS Takara Bio India is building a new high-performance commercial model in Karnataka, with Bangalore as one of our most important growth markets.

We are looking for a strong Regional Business Manager / Regional Head - Karnataka to lead this transformation. This is a high-impact role for someone who can build deep relationships with leading biopharma companies, genomics labs, diagnostics companies, CRO/CDMOs, academic institutes, startups and research organizations across Karnataka.

This is not a routine regional sales role. This is an opportunity to build one of DSS Takara Bio India's most important growth regions from the ground up.

Candidate must have

Qualification

• M.SC / M. Tech.- Biotechnology/Life Sciences
• PhD in Life Sciences is preferred

Experience

• 8-12+ years of experience in life sciences tools, molecular biology reagents, genomics, diagnostics, biopharma, pharma, research products or scientific instrumentation.
• At least 5 years' experience in managing regional sales team
