Job Description

• Database Administration: Manage and maintain AWS RDS SQL Server instances, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures to improve execution time and system performance .
• Partitioning & Sharding: Implement and maintain table partitioning strategies for efficient data handling and faster retrieval.
• Indexing Strategies: Design and manage Clustered, Non-Clustered, Full-Text, and Columnstore Indexes for optimized performance.
• Query Optimization: Analyze and refactor complex SQL queries, ensuring minimum response time and efficient execution plans .
• Faster Data Retrieval: Implement caching, indexing, materialized views, and query hints to enhance query response time.
• Database Design & Schema Management: Design scalable, well-structured database schemas to support large-scale data processing.
• Pagination & Data Handling: Develop efficient pagination techniques to handle and display large datasets effectively.
• Data Security & Compliance: Implement data encryption, masking, and auditing to ensure security and compliance.
• Backup & Recovery: Develop backup strategies, failover mechanisms, and disaster recovery plans .
• Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Utilize tools like AWS CloudWatch, SQL Profiler, Performance Monitor, and Extended Events for proactive database monitoring.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, data engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless data integration and optimization.

Technical Skills

• Database Technologies: AWS RDS SQL Server, SQL Server 2016/2019/2022
• Query Optimization: Execution Plans, Query Store, Dynamic SQL
• Performance Monitoring Tools: SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMV Queries

Preferred Qualification

• Experience with multi-terabyte databases and distributed database architectures .

• Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB is a plus.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for database deployments .
• Familiarity with data lake architecture and AWS Redshift .
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
