Job summary

Ralph Lauren Corporation in Bengaluru seeks a Sourcing Specialist for Home Bedding & Bath to drive end-to-end sourcing and product development, ensuring alignment with standards, timelines, quality and business objectives.

You will manage sample development, coordinate testing, negotiate costs, allocate vendors, and monitor lead times to secure on-time production and approvals.

Qualifications

• Merchandising/sourcing experience preferred with US buying office or large trading business.
• Experience in Bedding & Bath merchandising with product development focus.
• Profound knowledge of high end brands products, fashion sense and construction.
• Knowledgeable in fabrics and materials including leather, wovens, knits and towels.
• Strong production process knowledge and ability to work independently.
• Excellent Excel skills and ability to handle charts/reports.
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
• Exposure to multiple brands, calendars and product categories.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end sample development for Bedding & Bath to secure orders.
• Coordinate base testing for fabrics and raw materials with Raw Material team.
• Carry out costing and negotiate prices with suppliers; suggest alternative constructions or vendors.
• Vendor allocation and production capacity management.
• Ensure on-time lead times and approvals before orders.
• Work with factories to secure pre-production and production TNAs and on-time shipping.

Position Overview

• The Sourcing Specialist, Product Development - Home Bedding & Bath supports supports execution of the end-to-end sourcing and product development lifecycle for the Home Bedding & Bath categories, ensuring alignment with Ralph Lauren standards, seasonal timelines, quality expectations, and business objectives.
• Manage sample development process in order to ensure that samples are developed accurately to secure orders. Ensure costing, negotiations, time action plan | Work closely with factory to ensure all production production/ops related activities are secured well on time to secure 100% Ontime.
• Should have good knowledge and understanding of Home Bedding & Bath Products.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for sample develop and secure sample proto to SRS for Bedding & Bath Category.
• Ensure base testing is carried out for fabrics and raw materials and work closely with Raw Material team for approval
• Carryout/ revise costing and negotiate prices with suppliers - Understand product costing and suggest alternative constructions, fabrications, and/ or vendors to meet Product Manager's aesthetic and margin targets
• Vendor allocation for product and work closely with identified vendors
• Work closely with capacity team on capacity management
• Ensure sample Leadtime is as per RL standard or keep minimum
• Work to secure all approvals prior to order confirmation.
• Secure all pre-production activities timely .
• Work with factory to ensure production TNA is followed and secured to ship on time.

Requirement

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

• Merchandising/ sourcing experience preferred with US buying office or large trading business.
• Previous manufacturing experience in Bedding & Bath merchandising with main focus in product development and production.
• Profound product and material knowledge in high end brands products with good fashion sense - Knowledge of construction: basic knowledge of design, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim, print design and manufacturing.
• Good working knowledge in in leather, wovens, knits, towels and other bedding materials.
• Knowledgeable in production processes and best practices
• High adaptability and flexibility to changing business environments, able to work independently.
• Detail-oriented and able to handle very structured process.
• Good PC skill, especially in Excel , Excel analysis, familiar with multiple systems, charts and reports.
• Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in both spoken and written English.
