Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) in Chennai is looking for a manager for Digital Technologies to lead a team of engineers and specialists. You will drive development, retention, and high-quality output while aligning with the organization's technology strategy.

You will own the team’s competence, foster collaboration across locations, and ensure compliance with regulations. An Engineering degree and experience in RD, power systems, and English fluency are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in software systems, power systems, power electronics or related field; HVAC/HVDC/FACTS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in RD and people management is preferable.
• Strong written and spoken English in an international environment.
• Solid understanding of RD activities in power system projects.

Job Summary

The opportunity: Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 RD engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification. The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore. IDC collaborates with the RD and Research centers of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries. In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents.

Your background

• You hold at least Engineering Degree preferably in relevant technology field e.g. Software Systems, Power Systems, Power Electronics and having knowledge in HVAC / HVDC / FACTS technology is an advantage
• As a person you have a passion for people and technology, you are strong in decision making and have the right inner drive to take on full responsibility for your scope and deliver on time in a dynamic environment.
• Prior experience in RD, people management are preferable.
• Sound understanding of RD activities and so in power system business/project.
• Since we work in an international environment you need to master spoken and written English.
