We are looking for a Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate secure, scalable, and reliable engineering platforms that enable development teams to deliver cloud-native applications faster and with higher quality. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Helm, Azure DevOps, GitOps, observability, and platform automation.
This role requires strong ownership of developer experience, infrastructure automation, cloud operations, security-by-design, and platform reliability. The candidate will collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, cybersecurity teams, product teams, and business stakeholders to establish reusable platform capabilities, standards, and self-service solutions across the software delivery lifecycle.
How you'll make an impact:
- Design, build, and maintain internal developer platforms that provide reusable services, templates, pipelines, and automation for application teams.
- Create and manage cloud-native platform components on Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, and container registries.
- Standardize CI/CD pipeline templates using Azure DevOps for build, test, security scanning, deployment, and release automation.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Helm, Ansible, or similar tools to provision and manage consistent environments.
- Enable GitOps and configuration-driven deployment practices for repeatable, auditable, and scalable platform operations.
- Build self-service capabilities for developers, including environment provisioning, deployment templates, monitoring dashboards, and operational runbooks.
- Improve platform reliability through observability, logging, metrics, alerting, SLOs, incident analysis, and continuous operational improvements.
- Integrate platform security controls including secrets management, container security, dependency scanning, image scanning, and policy enforcement.
- Support DevSecOps practices by integrating tools such as SonarCloud, Black Duck, MetaDefender, or equivalent security and quality gates into delivery pipelines.
- Implement authentication, authorization, API gateway, ingress, service mesh, and secure connectivity patterns for platform services.
- Partner with application teams to troubleshoot deployment, performance, networking, availability, and operational issues.
- Define platform standards, reusable architecture patterns, documentation, and best practices to improve developer productivity and governance.
- Evaluate and introduce automation, AI-assisted development, and platform engineering improvements that reduce manual effort and accelerate delivery.
Your background
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or cloud-native application delivery.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, container registries, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
- Strong experience in Azure DevOps pipeline design, YAML pipelines, release automation, branching strategies, and reusable pipeline templates.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, Helm, ARM/Bicep, or equivalent tools.
- Good understanding of platform engineering concepts such as developer portals, golden paths, self-service automation, reusable templates, and paved-road standards.
- Experience with GitOps tools and practices such as Argo CD, Flux, or equivalent configuration-driven deployment approaches.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or similar platforms.
- Good understanding of networking, ingress controllers, DNS, certificates, load balancing, API gateways, and secure service-to-service communication.
- Experience with secrets management, identity, access control, OAuth, JWT, OpenID Connect, Keycloak, Azure Key Vault, or equivalent solutions.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps, secure SDLC, threat modeling, vulnerability management, dependency scanning, image scanning, and compliance readiness.
- Experience supporting event-driven or distributed systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, background jobs, or similar integration patterns is an advantage.
- Good understanding of application architecture, microservices, REST APIs, .NET Core, Angular, or full stack development concepts is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, automation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex platform and production issues.
- Strong communication, collaboration, ownership, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, guide engineering teams, and drive adoption of platform standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in English, both speaking and writing.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot is an advantage.
