R&D Mechanical Simulation Engineer - Bushings

Hitachi Energy is looking for a Mechanical Simulation Engineer to join R&D team in Vadodara, India. R&D organization in Global Product Group (GPG) oversees Product and Technology development projects. These projects contribute to ramp up our innovation capabilities and support our strong business growth. The above role is an opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated individual to join product-focused Global Organization which aims to launch products and platforms more swiftly, seizing market opportunities, and enhancing our competitive edge. The profile is set to execute R&D roadmap under product line of ‘Bushings and insulation’ within GPG of ‘Insulation and Components (I&C)’ of the Business Unit Transformers at Hitachi Energy.

Bushing R&D team in India is a multifaceted and diversified team of engineers who play a pivotal role in developing channels to integrate new solutions, technologies, and materials into our product portfolio. The team holds strong competencies in project management, product design, FEM simulations, high-voltage testing, and supply chain management. FEM simulation is an integral part of design validation and product evaluation. A mechanical engineer who has strong knowledge of advanced FEA and significant working experience with commercial FEM software would be an ideal candidate for this role. The position offers relocation based on candidate’s eligibility.

Your background

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering along with a strong subject knowledge of FEA
  • 5+ years of industrial experience in product validation by performing mechanical simulations using FEA
  • High level proficiency of using mechanical module in commercial FEA software, either ANSYS or COMSOL
  • Strong working experience of performing linear and nonlinear static, dynamic, and transient analyses
  • Knowledge of isotropic and orthotropic material properties, failure theories, elastoplastic analysis,
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming and scripting languages like C++, Python, Java etc.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English language
