Hitachi, Ltd. in Bengaluru seeks a Design Documentation Specialist to own electrical and mechanical documentation for power conversion products—from engineering concepts to serial production.

You’ll ensure accurate schematics, BOMs, drawings, and configuration records, collaborating with R&D, manufacturing, quality and service teams. You will coordinate reviews, manage revisions in PLM/ERP, and support prototype and factory builds with a detail-oriented, on-site approach; international travel

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Design Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience creating production-ready electrical and mechanical documentation for industrial products.
• Proficiency with EPLAN, E3 or equivalent electrical CAD, and with SolidWorks, Creo or NX.
• Ability to prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists, cabinet layouts, and assembly drawings.
• Experience managing bills of materials, document numbering, revisions, release workflows and engineering changes in PLM/ERP.
• Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, IEC symbols, tolerances and configuration control.
• High attention to detail and strong cross-disciplinary coordination; willing to on-site and travel internationally.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsabilités

• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists and interconnection documentation for power conversion products.
• Prepare mechanical part, assembly and installation drawings, including dimensions, tolerances and manufacturing notes.
• Build and maintain manufacturing bills of materials, drawing structures, document indexes and product configuration records.
• Coordinate reviews with electrical, mechanical, industrialization, manufacturing, quality and service teams.
• Implement engineering changes and ensure revision consistency across drawings, bills of materials, manuals and PLM/ERP records.
• Check documentation against applicable standards, internal rules, manufacturability and as-built product configuration.
• Support prototype and factory builds by resolving documentation gaps and incorporating verified feedback.
• Develop reusable templates, libraries and documentation standards to improve quality and lead time.
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

The opportunity :

Our R&D teams develop breakthrough technologies that change the way the world works and how industries do business. Within Hitachi Energy Power Conversion Solutions, you will join a global, cross functional organization developing and industrializing high-power conversion platforms for renewable energy and energy storage applications. As Design Documentation Specialist, you will own the electrical and mechanical documentation that takes our power converters from engineering concept to serial production. Your schematics, drawings, bills of materials and configuration records will be the reference that manufacturing, quality and service teams build and support our products from. Based in Bangalore, you will work closely with R&D, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Quality and Product Management teams locally and across our global organization. The role combines strong technical ownership with a serial-production mindset, supporting safe, reliable, cost competitive and scalable products throughout their life cycle. This is a hands on, on-site role with close involvement in prototype and factory builds, and occasional international travel depending on project and laboratory needs. How you'll make impact:

• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists and interconnection documentation for power conversion products.

• Prepare mechanical part, assembly and installation drawings, including dimensions, tolerances and manufacturing notes.

• Build and maintain manufacturing bills of materials, drawing structures, document indexes and product configuration records.

• Convert engineering concepts and mark-ups into accurate, released, production-ready documentation, coordinating reviews with electrical, mechanical, industrialization, manufacturing, quality and service teams.

• Implement engineering changes and ensure revision consistency across drawings, bills of materials, manuals and PLM/ERP records.

• Check documentation against applicable standards, internal rules, manufacturability and as-built product configuration.

Your background:

• Technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or Design Engineering.

• At least 3 years of experience creating production-ready electrical and mechanical documentation for industrial products.

• Professional proficiency with EPLAN, E3 or equivalent electrical CAD, and with a mechanical CAD tool such as SolidWorks, Creo or NX.

• Strong ability to prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, cable lists, cabinet layouts, part drawings and assembly drawings.

• Experience managing bills of materials, document numbering, revisions, release workflows and engineering changes in PLM/ERP systems.

• Knowledge of drafting standards, GD&T, IEC symbols, manufacturing tolerances and configuration control.

• High attention to detail and strong coordination skills across disciplines, with willingness to work on-site and travel internationally when required.

• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with power electronics, low- and medium-voltage equipment, renewable energy or energy storage products.
