Job summary

Huhtamaki in India (Karnataka) seeks a Quality Assurance professional with 2–3 years in QA/QC for cylinder manufacturing or flexible packaging. You will verify cylinders against orders, ensure substrate accuracy, and validate proofs via ink systems and customer references.

You will inspect cylinders and proofs, perform digital proof checks, maintain proof folders, and monitor Electroplating, Engraving, Prepress, and Proofing processes to ensure quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Diploma in Printing Technology or related field.
• 2 to 3 years of experience in QA or QC within cylinder manufacturing or flexible packaging.
• Hands-on experience in handling and resolving customer complaints.
• Knowledge of quality inspection processes, defect analysis, and CAPA implementation.
• Familiarity with quality standards and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

• Verify finished cylinders against Sales Orders and customer specifications before final release.
• Ensure proofs are produced on the correct substrate using the specified ink system; validate proof accuracy against customer references.
• Conduct physical inspection of cylinders and full proofs to identify defects and ensure corrective actions before approval.
• Perform digital proof verification using software to confirm text, artwork, placement, dimensions and layout against PDFs.
• Prepare and maintain professional proof approval folders for customer presentation and record-keeping.
• Monitor manufacturing process parameters across Electroplating, Engraving, Prepress, and Proofing to ensure quality and compliance.
• Investigate customer complaints using root cause analysis and implement CAPA.
• Track and evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions to ensure sustained improvements.
• Promote quality awareness and culture among production and cross-functional teams.
• Analyze internal rejections, identify trends, prepare reports, and recommend improvements to reduce defects and enhance process performance.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Verify finished cylinders against Sales Orders and customer specifications before final release.
   
2. Ensure all proofs are produced on the correct substrate using the specified ink system. Validate proof accuracy against customer-approved references through visual inspection and, for spot colors, using X-Rite color measurement equipment.
   
3. Conduct physical inspection of cylinders and full proofs to identify any defects and ensure corrective actions are completed prior to approval.
   
4. Perform digital proof verification using software tools to confirm the accuracy of text, artwork elements, positioning, dimensions, and layout against customer-approved PDF files.
   
5. Prepare and maintain professional proof approval folders for customer presentation and record-keeping.
   
6. Monitor critical manufacturing process parameters across Electroplating, Engraving, Prepress, and Proofing operations through internal audit mechanisms to ensure process compliance and quality standards.
   
7. Investigate customer complaints by conducting root cause analysis using appropriate quality tools and implementing effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
   
8. Track and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented corrective and preventive actions to ensure sustained improvements.
   
9. Promote quality awareness and quality culture among production and cross-functional teams.
   
10. Analyze internal rejections, identify trends, prepare reports, and recommend improvement actions to reduce defects and enhance process performance.
