We are looking for a skilled and experienced Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and quality of data throughout the ETL process. You will collaborate closely with developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and execute comprehensive test cases, validate data transformations, and resolve issues within ETL pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design test cases that simulate end-to-end customer workflows, ensuring a seamless experience across the system
- Conduct data profiling to assess quality, integrity, and consistency; identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with business rules and data quality standards
- Work closely with product managers, developers, and data engineers to understand functional requirements and ensure high-quality software releases
- Identify, document, and track bugs using tools such as Azure DevOps or equivalent
- Participate in release validations, including providing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support
- Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive ETL test cases, test plans, and test scripts
- Validate data transformations, mappings, and integrity between source and target systems
- Design and implement automated test solutions using Playwright for functional and performance testing
- Perform functional, regression, and performance testing on ETL pipelines
- Monitor ETL jobs, ensuring data quality, consistency, and completeness
- Conduct root cause analysis for issues within ETL pipelines and recommend process improvements
- Leverage AI technologies to accelerate and enhance end-to-end QA processes
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and database concepts
- Strong understanding of data modelling concepts including primary/foreign keys, relationships, and star/snowflake schemas
- Familiarity with data sources such as SQL Server, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or AWS Glue
- Practical experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Rest Assured
- Solid experience working in Agile environments and familiarity with DevOps practices
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for test automation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Graduate – B.Tech./M.Tech./MCA with consistent academic performance
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of metadata management, data governance, compliance, and privacy policies
- Familiarity with user management systems such as Active Directory or LDAP for role-based testing
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or Databricks
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, or Azure DevOps
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Contribution to improving test automation coverage and performance benchmarking strategies
