Job summary

Acesoft Labs is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer to develop and execute functional test cases and automated tests to ensure product quality. You will design tests, debug, and define corrective actions while reviewing requirements and tracking QA metrics.

The role requires collaborating with development teams in an Agile environment, building test plans, automating with open-source tools, and maintaining regression suites to improve software reliability.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years of software QA experience.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in white-box and black-box testing.
• Hands-on with automated testing tools such as Selenium and Cypress.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development processes.
• CI/CD/DevOps experience (Jenkins) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide feedback.
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities.
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Monitor debugging process results.
• Track QA metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.
• Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.
• Analyse bugs in Jira and provide directions to development team.

You will also review product requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.)

• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases

Requirements and skills

• Experience between 7 - 9 years
• Proven work experience in software quality assurance
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools (selenium, cypress etc.)
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Deve-ops experience (CI/CD pipeline setup, Jenkins) is a plus
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
