Job summary

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd. seeks a detail-oriented Raw Material Testing Specialist for its DS manufacturing facility. You will perform sampling, chemical testing, and batch release activities to ensure quality and regulatory compliance of raw materials used in production.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences and 2–5 years in a lab setting, preferably in pharma. Expect collaboration with QA/Production, meticulous record-keeping, and strict GDP/GMP adherence.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences or related field.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in a laboratory setting, preferably pharma.
  • Knowledge of GMP, GDP, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Sampling of raw materials according to SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conducting chemical testing using validated analytical methods (e.g., titration, spectroscopy, chromatography).
  • Performing batch release testing and documenting results to support manufacturing timelines.
  • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with QA/Production teams to ensure timely approval and release of materials.
  • Troubleshooting analytical issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Raw Material Testing Specialist to join our Drug Substance (DS) manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of raw materials used in production. The candidate will be responsible for sampling, chemical testing, and batch release activities in accordance with GMP standards

  • Educational qualification: A Master’s degree in Chemistry/ Life Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum work experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in the area laboratory setting, preferably in the pharmaceutical or related industry
  • Skills & attributes: Technical Skills
  • Sampling of raw materials according to established SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conducting chemical testing using validated analytical methods (e.g., titration, spectroscopy, chromatography).
  • Performing batch release testing and documenting results to support manufacturing timelines.
  • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with QA/Production teams to ensure timely approval and release of materials.
  • Troubleshooting analytical issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledgeable about cGMP, SOPs, and STPs, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to specifications.
  • Handle LIMS for sample login, data entry, and reporting.
  • Ensure all activities are documented contemporaneously in line with Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Maintain test records, equipment logs, and environmental data trends.
  • Adheres to safety precautions and procedures during analysis, emphasizing the importance of lab safety, JSA (Job Safety Analysis), and proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Expertise in handling and upkeep of the chemical and solvent store, including the preparation and maintenance of volumetric solutions and reagents.

  • Keen attention to detail in analysis and documentation, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for communicating with the Group Leader, reporting discrepancies, incidents, and providing timely updates.
  • Takes initiative in ensuring the proper use and care of instruments, timely destruction of samples, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills in addressing discrepancies, incidents, and ensuring smooth laboratory operations.
  • Upholds ethical standards, compliance with SOPs, and follows regulatory requirements in all activities.
