Job description

Our Tokyo Engineering team is changing gears to meet the growing needs of our customers - from a handful of robots to hundreds of robots; from a small team to multiple squads. The team works closely with some of the premier enterprise customers in Japan to buildstate-of-the-artrobotics solutions byleveragingrapyuta.io, our cloud robotics platform, and the surrounding ecosystem. The team’s mission is to pioneer scalable, collaborative, and flexible robotics solutions.

This roleincludestesting with realrobotsin a physical environment, testing virtual robots in a simulated environment, automating API tests, and automating systems-level testing.

The ideal candidateisinterested in working in a hands-on role withstate-of-the-artrobots.

Responsibilities

• Assistingin reviewing and analyzing the system specifications to define test cases
• Creating andmaintainingtest plans
• Executing test plans in a simulated environment and on hardware
• Defect tracking and generating bug and test reports
• Participating in implementing and improving QA processes
• Implementation of test automation for robotics systems
• Mentoring juniors

Minimum qualifications

• 6+ yearsof technicalexpertisein software quality assurance, including experience in team leadership and mentoring.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
• Experience writing,maintainingand executingsoftwaretest cases, both manual and automated
• Experience writing,maintainingand executing software test cases that incorporate hardware interactions, including manual and automated tests tovalidatethe integration of software with robotics systems
• Demonstrated experience with Python/C++testing frameworks
• Expertisein the Linux ecosystem
• Advanced knowledge of testing approaches: test levels, BDD/TDD,Blackbox/Whiteboxapproaches; regression testing
• Knowledge and practical experience of Agile principles and methodologies, such as SCRUM
• HTTP API testing experience
• ISTQB certification
• Proficiencywith version control repositories such as git
• Understanding of CI/CD systems such as: GHA;Jenkins;CircleCI

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of HWIL, simulations, ROS
• Basic understanding of embedded systems and electronics
• Experience with developing/QA for robotics or hardware products will be a plus.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit,Pytest, Playwright, Selenium, or similar tool
• Japanese languageproficiencyis good to have.
• Experience handling multiple projects or multiple versions simultaneously
• Experience in using latest AI tools and MCPs (Copilot, Claude, Open code)
