Job summary

iBASIS is seeking a QA Automation Lead to validate a real-time communications platform. You will own functional and load testing, design robust automation, and drive quality across distributed network components.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in test automation, strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Perl), and hands-on experience with SIP/VoIP signaling and telecom IT tools. Knowledge of SIPP/Landslide is a plus.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in simulation, scripting and debugging.
• SIPP simulator and Landslide experience is required.
• Strong Bash scripting and UNIX tooling knowledge.
• Proficient in Python and Perl scripting; TCL is a plus.
• Familiarity with HTTP testing tools like Postman and Insomnia.

About the Role: QA Automation Lead will be responsible for functional and load testing a real-time communications platform. Additional responsibilities will include:

• Verifying accurate data collection from distributed network nodes
• Programming simulation of specific functional test cases and load tests
• Requiring a mindset of "I will understand this software completely and exercise all functionality in an attempt to break it"
• Identifying edge cases, timing issues and bad/incomplete data sets, are all expected

Qualifications: Over 8+ years of solid experience with simulation, scripting and debugging, working with:

• SIPP simulator, Landslide
• Bash scripting
• UNIX tools (grep, tcpdump, Wireshark, ssh/sftp/scp)
• Advanced UNIX tools such as sed, awk, gdb and pstack
• Advanced Python scripting
• Perl scripting
• Tool Command Language (TCL) scripting is a plus.
• HTTP test tools including postman, Insomnia etc.

Knowledge and working experience with a telecommunications company and related services is a significant plus.

Good to Have: The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Electronics/Electrical Engineering.

• Strong preference for candidates with strong knowledge of Mobile Network signalling (MAP, GTP, Diameter etc).
• Strong hands-on working knowledge of VoIP protocols, including SIP/SIP-IMS.
