Role Objective
To evaluate measurement feasibility for new and existing components, develop suitable measurement strategies, and design precision jigs/fixtures to ensure accurate, repeatable, and efficient dimensional inspection processes within the Measurement Lab.
Key Responsibilities

Measurement Feasibility Planning
- Assess manufacturability and measurement feasibility of components based on drawings, GDT requirements, and customer specifications.
- Develop measurement strategies using CMM, VMM, height gauges, and other metrology equipment.
- Define critical-to-quality (CTQ) characteristics and ensure measurable capability.
- Conduct MSA studies (GRR, Bias, Linearity, Stability) to validate feasibility.
- Prepare measurement feasibility reports and share with cross-functional teams.
- Standardize measurement methods across lab stations.
- Troubleshoot measurement issues and recommend improvements.
- Maintain documentation for measurement procedures, inspection standards, and calibration records.
- Work with design and manufacturing team.

Jigs Fixture Design for Measurement
- Design jigs, fixtures, and holding devices for precision measurement of complex parts.
- Ensure fixture designs support repeatability, stability, and ease of use in the measurement process.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and ensure fixture compatibility with measurement equipment.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings and collaborate with tool-room/vendors for fixture fabrication.
- Validate fixture performance and document improvements.
Education and Knowledge
- BE/ B. Tech (Mechanical)
- Mechanical Diploma
Critical Experience
- 3-7 years of experience in measurement engineering, metrology, or jig/fixture design.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GDT and tolerance analysis.
- Hands‑on experience with CMM programming.
- Experience designing jigs and fixtures using CAD tools.
- Knowledge of measurement equipment: CMM, VMM, etc.
- Experience in automotive/precision manufacturing is an advantage.
- Exposure to MSA, PPAP, APQP, and IATF 16949 requirements.
