Job summary

HSBC Software Development India is seeking a QA Tech Lead/Associate Director to architect and drive automated testing across platforms. You will lead a QA function, shape test governance, and ensure high-quality releases through scalable frameworks and AI-assisted QA approaches.

Role requires 12–18 years in software quality, strong Python automation, and experience with CI/CD pipelines. Hybrid work setup in Pune, with exposure to banking software and cloud environments like AWS/GCP.

Qualifications

• 12–18 years of hands-on software QA, testing, and test architecture in product or financial services environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Pytest, BDD (Behave), and API/Web automation using Selenium.
• Lead QA teams, set up testing functions from scratch, and manage stakeholder communications; knowledge of SWIFT GPI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Framework design, building, and maintaining scalable test automation frameworks using Python, Behave, and Selenium.
• Lead performance, scalability, and load testing using JMeter, Locust, and Python-based tools.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, GitLab) for rapid deployments.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering
In this role, you will:

• Framework Design & Scaling: Design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Python, Behave (BDD), and Selenium to reduce manual regression effort and improve test coverage.
• Performance & Load Testing: Lead performance, scalability, and load testing initiatives using JMeter, Locust, and custom Python-based performance testing frameworks to simulate realistic user loads and identify bottlenecks early.
• CI/CD Integration: Seamlessly integrate functional and performance test suites into CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins, Git, and GitLab) to ensure rapid, reliable, and continuous deployments.
• AI-Assisted QA Innovation: Leverage modern AI tools and prompt engineering techniques to optimize test case generation, draft performance scripts, and streamline defect root-cause analysis.
• Test Strategy & Governance: Define clear QA strategies, test governance models, and quality metrics (via Jira analytics) to provide leadership with transparent visibility into release readiness.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and client stakeholders to align quality standards with business requirements

To be successful, you will:

• Experience: 12 to 18 years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, testing, and test architecture within product or financial services environments.
• Programming & Automation: Strong proficiency in Python, Pytest, BDD (Behave), and API/Web automation using Selenium.
• Performance Testing Tools: Practical experience building and executing load tests with JMeter, Locust, and custom Python performance testing scripts.
• DevOps & Cloud: Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git, GitLab) and familiarity with cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
• AI & Prompt Engineering: Practical familiarity with using AI coding assistants and prompt engineering strategies to write, refactor, and optimize test code or documentation.
• Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading QA teams, setting up testing functions from scratch, and managing stakeholder communication.and must have knowledge of SWIFT GPI
