Job summary

Techy Geeks seeks an experienced QA leader to own end-to-end testing for a cloud migration project. You will define the testing approach, drive functional parity validation, data reconciliation, and non-functional testing across Informatica-driven pipelines and related systems.

The role requires expertise in ETL testing, SQL-based data validation, and coordination with multiple teams to ensure a smooth cutover and hypercare period.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of QA/test engineering experience in data-platform or cloud-migration projects.
• Strong SQL skills for data reconciliation and validation.

Job description

Role Summary

Lead end-to-end quality assurance for the SDWH cloud migration. The role will define the testing approach and validate functional parity, data integrity, batch stability, performance and operational readiness across Informatica-driven data pipelines and dependent systems.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy and Planning

• Develop the SDWH migration test strategy, detailed test plan, quality gates and entry/exit criteria.
• Define functional, integration, regression, performance, data reconciliation, UAT and cutover validation approaches.
• Map test coverage to impacted Informatica domains, taskflows, connectors, batch schedules and downstream consumers.

ETL, Functional and Regression Testing

• Validate migrated IICS / IDMC taskflows, workflows and critical batch business processes.
• Validate business logic implemented within IICS / IDMC taskflows, workflows
• Perform impact analysis for connector, Secure Agent, configuration and environment changes.
• Execute smoke, functional, regression and restart/recovery scenarios.

Data Validation and Reconciliation

• Perform source-to-target comparisons across files, staging layers and downstream stores.
• Validate record counts, control totals, reference data, transformations, exceptions and data quality rules.
• Produce reconciliation evidence and track discrepancies through closure.

Integration and Non-Functional Testing

• Validate upstream/downstream interfaces, file transfers, schedules, Airflow orchestration and Redshift consumption.
• Coordinate test execution with application, platform, infrastructure and Oracle teams.
• Validate batch completion windows, SLA compliance, stability and processing bottlenecks.

Defect, Cutover and Hypercare Management

• Co-ordinate with Development Team for tracking and triaging of defects, risk reporting, quality metrics and release-readiness recommendations.
• Participate in dress rehearsals, production cutover and post-migration smoke validation.
• Support stabilization and co-ordination with Development Team for issue resolution during hypercare.

Required Skills and Experience

• 8+ years of QA / Test Engineering experience, including leadership of complex data-platform or cloud-migration testing.
• Strong hands-on experience in ETL and data warehouse testing.
• Hands-on Informatica IICS / IDMC testing experience.
• Advanced SQL skills for data reconciliation, exception analysis and database validation.
• Experience testing batch pipelines, taskflows, workflows, APIs and file-based integrations.
• Experience with functional, integration, regression, performance and UAT testing.
• Experience using defect/test management tools such as JIRA, ALM or Azure DevOps.
• Strong stakeholder communication, status reporting and risk-management skills.

Preferred Skills

• AWS exposure including EC2, S3 and cloud connectivity concepts.
• Informatica Secure Agent / EC2 Secure Agent migration experience.
• Airflow DAG/workflow validation and Redshift testing exposure.
• API testing using Postman or SoapUI.
• Performance testing using JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Financial services or asset management domain experience.
