Job summary

Fluence is a global leader delivering intelligent energy storage and optimization software. We are hiring a Software Quality Assurance Engineer in Bengaluru, India to validate software across web, APIs, and backend services.

You will design test plans, build automated frameworks (Python/Java/JavaScript), and integrate tests with CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins). Strong focus on industrial control interfaces and end-to-end product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 5-7 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance or Test Engineering.
• Experience in automation testing of enterprise software products and industrial control systems.
• Proven experience developing automated test solutions and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Validate functional, integration, system, end-to-end, and regression requirements.
• Perform software verification and validation activities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Review product requirements and technical specifications to identify test scenarios and quality risks.
• Investigate software defects, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Product Validation & Quality Assurance

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Validate functional,integration, system, end-to-end, and regression requirements.
• Perform software verification and validation activities throughout the product lifecycle.

Test Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks.
• Proficiencyinone or more programming languages: Python, Java, JavaScript
• Experience with one or more automation frameworks : Pytest, Selenium, Robot Framework, Cypress, Playwright
• Create automated test suites for: Web applications APIs Backend services Industrial control systems
• Integrate automated testsinto CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing.
• Improve automation coverage, execution efficiency, and reporting capabilities.

Industrial Automation & Controls Testing

• Validate control system applications.
• Test communicationinterfaces and protocols such as: Modbus MQTT OPC UA IEC 61850 (preferred)
• Validateinteractions between software applications and field devices, controllers, PLCs, and SCADA systems.
• Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) test activities.
• Participateinsystem-level testing and customer acceptance testing where required.

Required Qualifications

• Education Bachelor's Degree (BE/B.Tech)in: Electrical Engineering Electronics & Communication Engineering Computer Science Related Engineering Discipline
• Experience 5-7 years of experienceinSoftware Quality Assurance or Test Engineering.
• Experienceinautomation testing of enterprise software products andindustrial control systems.
• Proven experience developing automated test solutions and frameworks.
• Tools & Technologies Git / GitHub Jenkins / GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines Linux environments Docker REST APIs Test Management Tools (Jira, Xray, Zephyr, TestRail)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
• Experience with containerized applications and microservices.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity testing concepts forindustrial systems.
• Exposure to performance, scalability, reliability, and resiliency testing.
