Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc in Chennai, Tamil Nadu seeks a Senior AI Python Engineer to refactor and expand production systems, and to lead AI transformation by building generative AI applications and AI-driven SDLC workflows.

You will architect reusable AI components, govern AI outputs with guardrails, and collaborate with Scrum teams to align AI initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong background as a Senior Python Developer.
• Deep, hands-on experience with Python development and building robust, high-performance APIs using FastAPI.
• Proven experience in AI space with agentic development using LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or similar tools.
• Solid hands‑on experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, EC2, Bedrock, OpenSearch) and infrastructure-as-code (Boto3, AWS CDK, or Sceptre).
• Mastery of clean code, architectural patterns, and automated testing.
• Strong DevOps experience: Linux/Shell scripting, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), Git, and Agile/Scrum.

JOB DESCRICTION:-

We are looking for a Senior AI Python Engineer to not only refactor and expand our production systems but also to pioneer our team's AI transformation building generative AI applications, establishing AI-driven SDLC workflows, and centralizing our organizational intelligence. Tech Stack: AWS (Advanced), Python, FastAPI, Gen AI Frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph/CrewAI), Boto3, Jenkins, AWS CDK / Sceptre.

Role and Responsibilities:-

• AI-Driven SDLC Transformation: Implement, optimize, and scale AI-assisted Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) workflows across the entire engineering team to boost velocity and code quality.
• GenAIApplication Development: Design and build production-ready applications around Generative AI, specializing in intelligent orchestration and multi-agent systems.
• Knowledge Management & Guardrails: Architect a single, centralized Knowledge Base (KB) accessible via AI, while designing and implementing strict governance and guardrails for secure, reliable AI output.
• Reusable AI Solutions: Create modular, reusable components, templates, and libraries utilizing LLMs to streamline future AI integrations across the organization.
• Core Engineering & Refactoring: Architect and implement new features, refactor legacy media-processing pipelines, and optimize partner ingestion configurations.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, mentor team members on AI best practices, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to align AI initiatives with business goals.

Requirements:-

• Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong background as a Senior Python Developer.
• Core Backend Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Python development, specifically building robust, high-performance APIs using FastAPI.
• AI & Agentic Frameworks: Proven experience in the AI space, with strong practical knowledge of agentic development using frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar multi-agent orchestration tools.
