Job summary

NextHire is seeking a Python Backend Engineer (SDE 1/2) to join our backend team in Bangalore, India. This full-time role focuses on building large-scale web applications with Python and Django, delivering clean, scalable code and robust APIs.

You will design, develop, test and mentor, collaborating with engineers, PMs and managers to ship features on schedule. Required: strong Python, REST APIs, Django ORM, Git, and familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes; plus relational and NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of Python (1+ years) with strong OOP fundamentals.
• Experience with web frameworks and MVC/ MVT architecture.
• Experience with Django framework and its ORM.
• Experience with REST API's and microservices architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).
• Knowledge of distributed systems is a plus.
• Experience with Elasticsearch is a plus.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or any other container technologies is a plus.
• Experience with Celery or other asynchronous task queues.
• Experience using system monitoring tools, automated testing frameworks and implementing server-side security.
