About the Role

Elevro is building modern quality engineering solutions that combine scalable automation practices with AI-enabled capabilities to make product validation smarter, faster, and more reliable.

We are looking for a hands-on Python Automation Lead who can own automation strategy, design scalable frameworks, lead project execution, and guide automation teams across connected-product ecosystems involving IoT devices, embedded systems, firmware, mobile applications, web platforms, APIs, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.

This role requires a strong combination of technical leadership, delivery ownership, customer communication, and people management. The ideal candidate should contribute directly to automation development while providing architectural direction, coaching engineers, and ensuring successful project delivery.

What You’ll Work On

Lead the design and implementation of end-to-end automation solutions for products involving devices, firmware, mobile applications, web interfaces, APIs, backend systems, and cloud services.

Define automation architecture, engineering standards, reusable components, and framework capabilities that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with product and customer needs.

Drive project execution, customer communication, team capability development, and adoption of AI-enabled automation approaches for smarter test execution, failure analysis, reporting, and regression optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and evolve scalable, modular, and reusable Python automation frameworks across IoT, embedded, mobile, web, API, backend, and cloud platforms.
• Establish automation architecture, coding standards, reusable utilities, logging, reporting, and failure-analysis best practices.
• Own end-to-end project execution and delivery, including planning, milestones, quality gates, risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
• Translate customer and product requirements into clear automation strategies and practical technical solutions.
• Act as a key technical point of contact for customers, providing clear updates on progress, risks, technical decisions, and automation outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with firmware, hardware, mobile, backend, cloud, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure successful automation delivery.
• Mentor and coach engineers on Python, framework design, debugging, code quality, and complete product validation workflows.
• Build team capability by identifying skill gaps, creating learning plans, and making engineers independently deployable across projects.
• Lead and manage the automation team, including work allocation, progress tracking, feedback, hiring, onboarding, and performance development.
• Drive a culture of ownership, collaboration, engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and AI-enabled automation adoption.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting and automation development.
• Strong understanding of modular architecture, reusable components, maintainable code, and software design principles.
• Experience in one or more areas: IoT device automation, embedded/firmware validation, mobile automation, web automation, API/backend automation, hardware interaction, serial communication, cloud validation, or end-to-end product workflow automation.
• Good understanding of embedded systems, firmware behavior, device logs, configuration, diagnostics, and firmware-upgrade workflows.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, request/response validation, backend testing, and data verification.
• Ability to work with devices, gateways, development boards, sensors, and connected products.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD integration.
• Strong debugging, analytical thinking, and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Experience leading technical discussions and making framework or architecture decisions.
• Strong project planning, execution, and delivery-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with customer and stakeholder management experience.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, and managing automation engineers.

Icing On the Cake

• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Experience with GenAI-based development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to AI-enabled test generation, log analysis, reporting, or failure classification.
• Knowledge of networking, wireless protocols, and device communication.
• Exposure to hardware-in-the-loop or device-in-the-loop automation.
• Experience creating automation dashboards, analytics, quality metrics, or release-quality summaries.
• Exposure to containerization and cloud environments.
• Experience working with distributed or cross-functional product teams.
• Prior experience managing customer-facing automation projects or scaling automation teams.

AI-Enabled Automation Contribution

As part of this role, the candidate will contribute to Elevro’s direction of making automation solutions more intelligent and AI-enabled.

This may include helping build or enhance capabilities such as:

• AI-assisted test case and script generation
• Intelligent log analysis and failure summarization
• Automated defect insights and root-cause support
• Smarter regression selection and coverage analysis

Prior hands-on experience with AI/ML is not mandatory. However, the candidate should be curious, adaptable, and willing to work on automation solutions that use AI to improve quality engineering outcomes.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a hands-on automation leader who can balance architecture, development, delivery, customer engagement, and team leadership.

The right candidate should be comfortable moving between technical design discussions, code reviews, project planning, customer meetings, and team coaching. They should understand complete product workflows and be capable of building automation across both software and hardware-driven systems.

The candidate should not be limited to one automation tool, testing platform, or product layer. They should be able to evaluate requirements, define the right automation approach, and guide the team toward scalable, production-ready solutions.

Most importantly, the candidate should be excited about leading AI-enabled quality engineering initiatives that make automation more intelligent, effective, maintainable, and valuable for product teams.
