Job Description

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer with hands‑on experience in machining components procurement. The candidate should have strong knowledge of engineering materials, machining processes, and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings. The role involves close coordination with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and cost‑effective procurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end‑to‑end procurement of machining components
• Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings (2D/3D)
• Identify suitable vendors based on machining capability and material requirements
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) as per PR and drawings
• Coordinate with suppliers for quotations, lead time, cost, and delivery
• Ensure material availability as per production schedule
• Follow up on order execution, dispatch, and delivery status
• Support vendor development and performance monitoring
• Coordinate with Quality, Planning, and Production teams for issue resolution
• Maintain purchase documentation, records, and KPI reports
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of machining processes (Turning, Milling, Grinding, etc.)
• Good understanding of engineering materials (Steel, Cast Iron, Aluminum, Alloys, etc.)
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings & specifications
• Basic commercial knowledge (costing, lead time, payment terms)
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (preferred)
• Good communication, coordination, and follow‑up skills
• Problem‑solving mindset and ability to work under pressure
