Job summary

FORVIA HELLA India is seeking a Prototyping Specialist (Automotive Electronics) to lead end-to-end prototype PCB assembly, process optimization, and equipment operations in the Dhankot, Haryana lab. You will drive SMT processes (SPP, SPI, AOI, reflow, flying probe), ensure IPC standards, collaborate with design and validation teams, and maintain documentation and traceability for engineering samples.

The role requires 8+ years in automotive electronics prototype manufacturing, strong IPC

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Diploma in Electronics/Telecom/Electrical/Instrumentation/Mechatronic.
• 8+ years in automotive electronics prototype manufacturing and end-to-end PCB assembly.
• IPC-A-610 CIS and IPC J-STD-001 certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop prototype assembly processes for new products and optimize yields.
• Prepare SOPs and work instructions for prototype builds.
• Maintain prototype build records and documentation for traceability.
• Coordinate with design, validation, and manufacturing teams for DV/PV activities.
• Operate and maintain SMT equipment; support PM and calibration.
• Review AOI/ Flying Probe reports and support root-cause investigations.

Process Development

• Develop prototype assembly processes for new products.
• Prepare work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Optimize assembly yield and reduce prototype turnaround time.
• Introduce continuous improvement initiatives within the prototype lab

Equipment Management

• Operate and maintain SMT production equipment.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration
• Support installation and qualification of new prototype equipment
• Troubleshoot machine-related issues.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with automotive quality standards.
• Perform first article inspections
• Review AOI and Flying Probe test reports
• Support failure analysis and root cause investigations.
• Maintain prototype traceability and documentation.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with : Hardware Design Engineers, PCB Layout Engineers, Validation Engineers, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing Suppliers & Support design verification (DV), product validation (PV), and engineering change activities.

Documentation

• Maintain prototype build records.
• Prepare prototype build reports.
• Generate assembly instructions and process documentation.
• Maintain equipment utilization records

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechatronic
• Experience: Overall 8+ years years of experience in automotive electronics prototype manufacturing.
• The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end prototype PCB assembly, process optimization, equipment operation, quality assurance, and coordination with design, validation, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality engineering samples within project timelines.
• Preferred Certifications : IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) & IPC J-STD-001 Certification
