Project Scheduler – UK Offshore Wind Energy Projects
WSP India is seeking an experienced Project Scheduler to support project managers in planning, scheduling, change management, monitoring, and project controls reporting for UK offshore wind energy projects. The scheduler will establish a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), maintain the master schedule baseline, and provide key support in schedule variance analysis and business‑development scheduling needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct interactive planning sessions with area or team leads to establish a PMB.
- Monitor project risks, issues, resources, and CPM, providing solutions to the Project Controls Manager and Resident Engineer.
- Identify and highlight progress issues that threaten delivery, enabling recovery actions and claim support.
- Develop different levels of schedule for the project, and support business‑development proposals.
- Perform critical‑path analysis to determine deliverable float and schedule slack.
- Mentor junior and intermediate staff.
- Manage client expectations and coach others in effective negotiation.
- Create integrated EPC/client schedules with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate scheduler activities to ensure task completion.
- Identify, notify, optimize, and record schedule scenarios supporting trend analysis.
- Assist in improving change‑management procedures.
- Provide technical support to project managers for what‑if schedule scenarios.
- Maintain the master schedule baseline for engineering, procurement, and construction activities.
- Prepare schedule scenarios for trend and scope changes with the Project Team.
- Apply advanced knowledge of project‑controlling philosophies, principles, and techniques.
- Serve as a preventative mechanism for unforeseen cost and schedule impacts.
- Plan staffing and project hours to ensure resource availability.
- Take on additional responsibilities as directed by management.
- Evaluate cost and schedule impacts of project trends, ensuring inclusion of all cost categories.
- Raise and record all project/discipline‑related risks, updating the risk register.
Key Competencies / Skills
- Experience with Project scheduling & Primavera P6 (required).
Mandatory Skills
- 8–12 years of experience scheduling offshore wind projects, offshore O & G, or marine projects.
- Proven skills in Primavera / Microsoft / other planning products (e.g., Primavera Project Management, Primavera Risk Analysis, Microsoft Project).
- Understanding of Project Controls functions: Schedule Management, Cost Management, Change Management, Risk and Opportunity Management.
Desired Skills
- Valuable experience in planning and knowledge of earned value management principles.
- Ability to analyze schedule performance effects on project completion.
- Time flexibility and excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail and proficiency in analytics tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with cost control and EPCM environment for offshore wind, offshore O & G, or marine projects.
- Flexibility to attend meetings outside normal office hours or early in the morning to align with UK time.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8–12 years of post‑graduation experience in large‑scale professional services or related field.
- Degree holder with relevant background (Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering) and an MBA in Operations Management, or a diploma/certificate in Project Management is an asset.
- Experience on UK projects is advantageous.
- PMP certification is advantageous.
