The Construction Manager (CM) for APJC Construction in the Data Center Capacity Delivery (DCCD) organization is responsible for the construction of data center builds. The CM typically works on all phases of a data center construction project, including site development, shell construction, and phase fit‑outs. They are responsible for the safety, cost, quality, and delivery performance of their build. They need to engage with stakeholders to manage changes and react in a timely manner to unexpected situations.
In this offered role, the CM works independently to deliver capacity within their cluster for one Availability Zone (AZ) with limited guidance and is expected to deliver entire build including Early works, Building shell & Core, Substation, and Follow‑on ROMPs (FORs). Works with internal and external stakeholders including Design Engineering, Environmental, Technical Infrastructure Program Management, Power & Cooling, Procurement, Real Estate, Legal, Security, Finance, Commissioning, Controls, Energy, and Infra Operations. Is fully responsible for delivering assigned construction builds within the approved budget, and defines construction Build budgets by gathering requirements and individual site data, and securing the budget approval and funding required to complete the construction builds. Clearly communicates construction constraints to the project team, drives design reviews and changes, and manages construction general contractors to complete all aspects of a DC build per provided designs and specifications, and/or manages individual construction. Ensures contractual obligations of the GCs on the project are delivered. Delivers infrastructure build projects to defined cost, time, and quality measures and contributes to the development of these measures. Identifies and mitigates risks and issues on assigned construction Builds. Documents construction issues in standard reporting tools and complies with the project change control process.
As a Data Center CM of ADSIPL you will be a part of highly creative, action oriented, efficient team tasked with building Amazon data facilities in India of world class standards. The person will be part of the Construction Management team for AWS Data Centers in India. This team is part of the overall Data Center Capacity Delivery (DCCD) team for APJC (Asia Pacific, Japan, China) region of which India is a part. The team is led by an India Construction Management lead with two construction cluster /zones – Mumbai and Hyderabad, each region led by a Regional CM who has a team of CMs. This role will report directly into the regional construction manager for the Mumbai region.
