Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Bengaluru seeks a seasoned project manager to oversee planning, scheduling and control of complex projects. You will coordinate with the Project Controls team, define project plans, manage scope, cost, risk and schedule, and ensure adherence to Hitachi policies and best practices.

You will serve as the primary customer contact, drive procurement and contract activities, monitor progress, invoices and cash flow, and foster strong stakeholder relationships while upholding health,

• Defines project plans with the Project Controls department, including scope, schedule and risk management.
• Monitors and controls progress, resources, and project financials, including invoicing and cash flow.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain for procurement of services, materials and equipment.
• Ensures contract and claims management is applied per Hitachi policies.
• Acts as primary customer contact and maintains stakeholder relationships; ensures HSE compliance.

Job description

Plannning & Scheduling

Defines, jointly with the Project Controls department, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.

Project execution and control

Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and Hitachi policies. Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization. Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Ensure meeting of monthly target of revenue, payment collection etc. Identifies, qualifies, quantifies and manages risk, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued. Captures, analyzes and shares lessons learned throughout the project.

Contract, claims and procurement management

Ensures that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with HITACHI policies and contractual agreements. Coordinates with Supply Chain Management, and successfully procures required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. Supports Supply Chain Management in negotiations, claims and project changes.

Stakeholder relations

Acts as key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues. Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders.

Health, safety and environment (HSE)

Ensures the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
