Job summary

Gensler in Bengaluru seeks a Project Director with a proven track record of managing all phases of architecture projects and delivering client satisfaction, quality control, and financial performance.

You will deploy resources, lead multidisciplinary teams, and act as the primary liaison between team and client, guiding projects from concept through construction to turnover. This is a chance to work on trendsetting projects across industries while mentoring future leaders.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of design project management experience on architecture projects.
  • Ideal experience leading projects larger than 2 million sq m commercial.
  • Professional license or certification preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, and managing financial performance.
  • Knowledge of building codes and structures; full lifecycle through post-occupancy.
  • Proficiency with project management software and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple large-scale projects, guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring alignment on scope, schedule, and execution.
  • Direct comprehensive project planning, forecast resources, mitigate risks, and coordinate across consultants and contractors.
  • Develop sophisticated project proposals and drive contract negotiations balancing design and commercial realities.
  • Ensure rigorous financial stewardship, oversee fees, forecasting, change management, and project economics.
  • Lead end-to-end lifecycle from concept through construction, turnover, and post-occupancy refinement.
  • Mentor project leads and strengthen delivery capabilities within the studio.
  • Promote sustainable strategies and digital delivery tools to enhance efficiency and quality.

Your Role

As a GenslerProject Director, you have a successfultrack recordof managing all phases of architecture projects and will have overall project responsibility for client satisfaction, qualitycontroland financial performance. You will deploy resources to ensure that the work process flows smoothly and act as the primary liaison between the team and client. This isa great opportunityto join a highly creative, collaborative team while working on trendsetting architectural projects across a variety of industries.

What You Will Do
  • Implement and oversee multiple, largescale and highly complex project (s), guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring alignment on project objectives, scope, schedule, and technical execution.
  • Direct comprehensive project planning for high value, multiphase developments, proactively forecasting resources, mitigating risks, and orchestrating coordination across numerous consultant and contractors.
  • Develop sophisticated project proposals for complex environments, driving contract negotiations that balance design ambition, commercial realities, and long-term client partnership.
  • Ensure rigorous financial stewardship across large, multi-year projects, overseeing fee performance, forecasting, change management, and project economics to safeguard profitability and operational excellence.
  • Lead the full end to end lifecycle of highly technical architectural programs, from early concept strategy through construction execution, commissioning, turnover, and post-occupancy refinement.
  • Mentor and develop project team leads, strengthening project delivery capabilities and building succession pipelines within the studio.
  • Promote innovative practices such as sustainable strategies, digital delivery tools, and advanced project management methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectureor related field
  • 15+ years of relateddesignproject management experience on a range of architecture projects.Ideally should also have experience leading projects greater than2 millionsq metercommercial projects.
  • Professional license or certification preferred
  • LEED accreditation preferred
  • Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects
  • Experience with the full project lifecycle, through post-occupancy
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures
  • Significanttechnical understanding of architectural design,
  • Experience with project management software, such as MS Project, a plus
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
