KONE in Chennai seeks a Project Chief Engineer to lead end-to-end engineering delivery for strategic elevator projects, coordinating across Frontline, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Product Management teams.

The role emphasizes project planning, risk management, regulatory compliance, and achieving milestones on time and within budget while upholding safety and quality standards. A senior engineer with cross-functional leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Elevator Engineering, Project Engineering, Product Engineering or Supply Chain Engineering.
• Strong understanding of elevator products, engineering processes, and project execution methodologies.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder engagement.
• Proven track record in complex project delivery and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.
• Certified PMP is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Drive project planning, technical alignment, risk management, and issue resolution.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, product requirements, safety regulations, and quality expectations.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and business objectives.
• Manage project escalations and provide timely solutions to technical and operational challenges.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and localization initiatives as required.
• Monitor project performance through KPIs and governance reviews.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Project Chief Engineer to lead the execution of strategic engineering projects within our Elevator Business. The Project Chief Engineer will serve as the technical and project leadership focal point, ensuring seamless coordination between Engineering, Supply Chain, Frontline, Product Management, and Operations teams.

This position is critical in driving project excellence, ensuring customer requirements are met, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Preferred Experience

• Elevator industry experience with exposure to New Business Solutions (NBS), Modernization, Engineering, or Product Development.
• Familiarity with global engineering and supply chain environments.
