The Program Manager will be responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and coordinating HPV vaccination activities aimed at preventing cervical cancer. The role involves stakeholder coordination, program supervision, capacity building, reporting, and ensuring quality implementation of project interventions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Program Planning and Implementation
- Develop detailed implementation plans and activity schedules for HPV vaccination programs.
- Ensure effective execution of vaccination drives in targeted geographical areas.
- Align project activities with national immunization and cervical cancer prevention guidelines.
- Monitor program timelines and ensure achievement of project targets.
2. Stakeholder Coordination and Partnership Management
- Coordinate with Government Health Departments, District Health Authorities, and local administration.
- Collaborate with schools, healthcare institutions, NGOs, and community-based organizations.
- Facilitate meetings with donors, partners, and stakeholders.
- Strengthen multi-sectoral collaboration for successful program implementation.
3. Capacity Building and Training
- Plan and conduct training sessions for healthcare workers, teachers, field staff, and volunteers.
- Provide technical guidance on HPV vaccination, cervical cancer prevention, and community mobilization.
- Conduct supportive supervision and mentoring of field teams.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Quality Assurance
- Monitor vaccination coverage, service quality, and program progress.
- Conduct field monitoring visits and ensure adherence to program guidelines.
- Track key performance indicators and suggest corrective actions where required.
- Support monitoring of Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI) and ensure proper reporting.
5. Community Awareness and Advocacy
- Design and implement community awareness and IEC/BCC activities.
- Address vaccine hesitancy and promote acceptance of HPV vaccination.
- Facilitate sensitization programs in schools and community settings.
- Support advocacy initiatives with local leaders and stakeholders.
6. Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports.
- Maintain documentation of vaccination coverage, training activities, and community interventions.
- Document success stories, best practices, and lessons learned.
- Ensure timely submission of reports to management and funding agencies.
7. Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Ensure availability of vaccines, cold chain maintenance, and vaccination supplies.
- Monitor vaccine utilization and minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams for smooth distribution of logistics.
8. Budget and Financial Monitoring
- Monitor program expenditure and budget utilization.
- Ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Support financial planning and activity-based budgeting.
9. Risk Management and Problem Resolution
- Identify implementation challenges and develop mitigation strategies.
- Address operational barriers and community concerns.
- Ensure continuity of program activities during emergencies or unforeseen situations.
Qualification and Experience
- Master’s Degree in Public Health / Social Work / Health Administration / Life Sciences or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in public health program management.
- Experience in immunization programs or maternal and child health programs will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of government health systems and vaccination programs.
