Job summary

Saarthi Education is launching Practice Lab in Mathura to rigorously test EdTech-based solutions in government schools. The Program Manager will enable schools and field workers, ensuring daily fidelity and meaningful learning time for children.

This hands-on role (80% field, 20% desk) requires building trust with school leaders and guiding teams to deliver impact. This position focuses on implementing practices, coordinating with teachers and officials, and driving scalable, high-fidelity

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant on-ground execution experience in government schools or similar settings.
• Strong ability to design, refine, and document processes/SOPs for clear operations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with school leaders and government officials.

Responsibilities

• Train and manage a field team of ~50 women workers across the block
• Set up EdTech Practice Lab in each school: hardware, timetables, storage, SOPs
• Design and implement school-level processes (tablet allocation, session flow, troubleshooting, safeguarding)
• Conduct regular school visits to ensure high fidelity in daily usage
• Use dashboards to monitor usage and learning data, and take corrective actions
• Address operational challenges: device issues, low usage, staff absenteeism, timetable changes
• Build relationships with Headmasters and teachers; appoint and coach usage champions
• Engage with district-level officials (DEO, BEOs, ARPs)
• Provide monthly updates and data-driven insights to officials
• Proactively manage risks related to school calendars and government events

Saarthi Education is a non-profit organisation focused on improving foundational numeracy outcomes in low-resource schools by strengthening a core but underdeveloped element of classroom instruction: practice. We design and implement a structured, level-based practice system that provides each child with daily, personalised arithmetic practice

Practice Lab: Overview

Practice Lab is a rapid, comparative testing ground for both tech- and offline-based practice products in Indian government schools. We implement multiple FLN solutions under the same conditions, like exact timetables, tablet ratios, and field support, to understand which tools drive the highest learning gains and why. The Lab also experiments with implementation models (dosage, device sharing, helper support) to define what it takes to deliver EdTech with high fidelity at scale. Insights from the Practice Lab inform product owners about potential improvements to their products and guide government and donors in making evidence-based decisions about which products and models to adopt system-wide.

The Program Manager sits at the heart of this mission. You will bring this vision to life every day by enabling schools, supporting field workers and teachers, ensuring children get meaningful learning time, and making sure the Lab runs consistently and with high fidelity. This is an intensely hands-on role: 80% field, 20% desk. Responsibilities

• Design and implement school-level processes (e.g., tablet allocation, session flow, troubleshooting, safeguarding).
• Conduct regular school visits to ensure exceptionally high fidelity in daily usage.
• Use dashboards to monitor usage/learning data and take corrective actions.
• Firefight any operational challenges: device failures, low usage, field team absenteeism, timetable changes, etc.
• Build strong relationships with Headmasters and teachers; appoint and coach school-level usage champions.
• Government relations
• Build strong relationships with district-level officials (DEO, BEOs, ARPs).
• Provide monthly updates and presentations to officials with clear, data-backed insights.
• Proactively manage risks related to school calendars, government events, and staff transfers.

• Proven ability to run large-scale field operations in government schools with discipline and reliability. An ideal candidate will have around 3-5 years of relevant on-ground execution experience.
