Job description

As the Programme Director - Clean Energy at iFOREST, you will be leading the strategic direction, delivery, and growth of the Clean Energy Programme.

Responsibilities
  • Leading the delivery of the ongoing Programme, ensuring committed outputs, outcomes, timelines, reporting requirements, and budget management.
  • Leading the future development of the Programme in alignment with the institution's strategic plan.
  • Driving Programme outreach and strengthening institutional profile.
  • Building and managing an effective Programme team.
  • Contributing to institutional leadership and growth.
  • Undertaking additional responsibilities and assignments related to the advancement of the Clean Energy Programme and institutional priorities.
Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Masters degree (minimum) from a recognised institution in a relevant field such as management, economics, public policy, energy policy, renewable energy technology, etc.
  • Over 15 years of extensive experience in research, strategy consulting, or advisory-related fields, with a focus on the renewable energy sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of producing high‑quality research outputs in the renewable energy sector.
Required Competencies
  • Comprehensive understanding of Indias renewable energy sector, including policies, regulations, technologies, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Strong commitment to advancing Indias low‑carbon transition and delivering impact.
  • Experience in qualitative and quantitative research and authoring research publications related to the clean energy sector.
  • Ability to manage research teams, build relationships, and represent the institution effectively.
  • Proven leadership and strategic programme management skills.
