Job summary

Sterling Healthcare in Pune is seeking a Production Officer for compression and capsule filling operations. You will oversee tablet compression and capsule filling, ensuring compliance with BMR/BPRs, SOPs, GMP, and production schedules.

The role requires 1–3 years of pharma production experience, preferably in compression/capsule filling, with strong documentation and team coordination skills. Shift work and adherence to safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• B.Pharm or M.Pharm preferred; related field may be considered.
• 1–3 years of pharmaceutical production experience, preferably tablet compression/capsule filling.
• GMP-regulated manufacturing experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor tablet compression, capsule filling, dedusting and metal detection equipment.
• Perform machine setup, tooling/changeover, cleaning, and line clearance.
• Conduct in-process checks and monitor critical process parameters.
• Complete BMR/BPRs, logbooks, checklists, and equipment records accurately.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Engineering, Warehouse and other departments.
• Report deviations, breakdowns, and quality issues; support investigations.
• Monitor yield, productivity, machine efficiency and rejection levels.
• Maintain GMP, hygiene, safety and contamination-control standards.
• Train operators on SOPs, GMP, equipment operation and safe practices.
• Assist validation, qualification, trial batches and changeover activities.

Job Purpose

To execute and supervise tablet compression and capsule filling operations in compliance with approved BMR/BPRs, SOPs, GMP, safety requirements, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor compression, capsule filling, dedusting, metal detection, and related equipment.
• Perform machine setup, tooling/changeover, cleaning, and line clearance.

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of BMR/BPRs, logbooks, checklists, and equipment records.
• Coordinate with QA, QC, Engineering, Warehouse, and other departments.
• Report and support investigation of deviations, breakdowns, and quality issues.
• Monitor yield, productivity, machine efficiency, and rejection levels.
• Maintain GMP, hygiene, safety, housekeeping, and contamination-control standards.
• Train and guide operators on SOPs, GMP, equipment operation, and safe working practices.
• Support validation, qualification, trial batches, and changeover activities as assigned.
