ROLE SUMMARY
- Run a molding / Printing / Assembly machine to produce livestock identification tags as per SOP. Accomplish the production of Livestock identification tags which meet engineering and Quality requirements. Ensure Multiskilling so that resources can be deployed across the value chain.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take a thorough handover from the previous shift, including reviewing productivity concerns, safety issues, quality problems, breakdowns, rejections, and any other relevant matters. Verify all rejections and concerns reported by the previous shift.
- Maintain 5S standards for the machine and the surrounding work area, ensuring cleanliness and organization at all times.
- Complete the Operator Check Sheet at the start of each shift.
- Understand and prepare for material, mold, fixture, and font (printing) changeovers. Coordinate with the Supervisor or Team Leader to discuss changeover plans and arrange necessary materials in advance.
- Set up machines by programming for each model or product to be produced.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to obtain initial clearance before starting production.
- Perform Autonomous Maintenance tasks including Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection, and Tightening (C-L-I-T) to ensure machine reliability.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance team for quick resolution of any machine breakdowns.
- Maintain logbook of hourly output, rejections, breakdowns, and other relevant production data.
- Achieve hourly and shift production targets as per the production plan.
- Conduct initial inspection and sorting of products to prepare tags for packing.
- Adhere strictly to company procedures related to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Train new employees through a buddy system to ensure they can perform tasks effectively at all levels.
- Monitor operations closely and take prompt action, including temporarily shutting down the workstation if operational malfunctions threaten product quality.
- Operate machines and perform tasks in strict accordance with operational instructions, production process documents, and safety requirements.
- Perform rework and product inspections as necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Actively participate in organizational improvement initiatives such as Kaizen, Quality Circles, and Suggestion Schemes.
- Collaborate effectively across Zones, teams and departments to support overall production goals.
- Complete all assigned training programs on time.
- Provide support to other zones or areas as required.
- Promptly report any issues or concerns to the Supervisor or EHS Officer.
- Foster and maintain a positive and productive work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- ITI
- Experience of 0-3 years in the relevant field
