Apple's worldwide communications team informs the world about our innovative products and services, and the values that drive everything we do. Areas of work include Public Relations, Corporate Events, Employee Communications, and Buzz Marketing. The team includes professionals with backgrounds in public relations, journalism, social media, writing and buzz marketing. We’re looking for trailblazing, collaborative professionals from a variety of creative fields.We are seeking a Product PR leader to drive strategy, planning, and execution of our PR programs and initiatives. This role will focus on driving fresh new ideas and implementing cutting edge PR for Apple products in India, as well as related software and services, at the same time broadening relationships with media and influencers on established and emerging platforms.

Description

In this role, you’ll be leading a team of PR Managers who you’ll actively develop through nurturing and building capabilities tied to our competency architecture and leadership attributes.This role will partner closely with colleagues in our headquarters to align on messaging, product positioning, and global initiatives while also defining, planning and executing local initiatives to address India-specific insights.

Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will bring energy, ideas and an appetite to bring fresh storytelling ideas to fruition.
  • Lead the India rollouts of product and related software, devising and implementing communications initiatives that resonate with the local audience. Responsibilities will include strategic planning and execution, leadership of PR campaigns, and prioritizing the most relevant and meaningful news in a fast-paced environment and continuous news cycle.
  • Work in partnerships to create strategies and deliver campaigns that increase awareness and understanding of products and their software.
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of other teams and functions to create and deliver the activity that increases awareness and understanding. This will include Product Marketing and Marketing Communications teams, worldwide PR teams and other country PR teams.
  • Find new relationships amongst the talent and communities that use our products and services to deliver the world’s most exciting work, and will be tasked with leading our efforts in finding new media and social platforms through which we can tell those stories.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 15+ years experience in PR. This might include roles in PR agencies or corporate PR departments.
  • 5+ years experience leading and developing a team of individual contributors.
  • Experience working for, or with a global organization in both consumer and/or corporate PR capacity, consumer technology and lifestyle markets are preferred.
  • Experience in media relations and has a network of media contacts in entertainment, creative, tech, design and cultural platforms in India.

  • Successfully delivered creative PR campaigns that have created meaningful impact.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Able to work with ambiguity and on complex topics across multiple jurisdictions. Skilled in multi-tasking, delivering under tight timelines, adapting quickly to change.
  • Effectively builds formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization.
  • Develops and delivers effective communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Analyses complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.
  • Understands internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs.
