Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Product Owner to support digital lab and data platform capabilities within the Transformative Digital Capabilities organization. You will partner with Process Development, digital product teams, data and engineering teams, and end users to shape a roadmap and backlog, delivering capabilities that improve data quality and lab execution efficiency.

Qualifications

• Doctorate OR Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with digital lab platforms such as ELN and LIMS in Pharma R&D
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms like Databricks or Redshift
• Familiarity with Generative AI, digital twins, and analytics applications
• Strong product management and Agile delivery experience

What will you do?

As a Product Owner supporting digital lab and data platform capabilities, you will work at the intersection of science, technology, data, and business process transformation. You will partner with stakeholders across Process Development, digital product teams, data and engineering teams, and end users to define, prioritize, and deliver capabilities that improve data quality, user experience, lab execution efficiency, and scientific insight generation. This role requires an end-to-end product owner mindset, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate business and scientific needs into a well-managed roadmap and backlog. This role independently manages multiple assignments, owns tactical segments of broader programs, anticipates issues, and helps shape practical solutions aligned with team objectives and business value.

Job Responsibilities

• Partner with business, scientific, and technology stakeholders to define and deliver an industry-leading digital thread spanning lab execution systems and data analytics platforms.
• Drive the digital platform strategy to improve data quality, enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of lab experimentation, and unlock novel insights through data science to accelerate pipeline advancement.
• Own and manage product backlog with clear prioritization aligned to business value and TDC strategy.
• Drive product roadmap planning and execution aligned with product vision.
• Leadrequirementsdefinition, user story development, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with engineering teams through Agile/Scrum delivery.
• Collaborate with functional leads and users to refinebacklogand priorities.
• Drive user acceptance testing (UAT), business validation, and release readiness.
• Enable solution adoption through training materials and stakeholder engagement.
• Monitor product performance and user feedback for continuous improvement.
• Ensure alignment with data governance and enterprise architecture standards.

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate OR
• Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of structured/unstructured data (SQL/NoSQL).
• Experience with digital lab platforms such as ELN and LIMS in Pharma R&D.
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms like Databricks or Redshift.
• Familiarity with Generative AI, digital twins, and analytics applications.
• Strong product management and Agile delivery experience.
• Ability to translate scientific needs into scalable digital solutions.
• Proficiency in Python or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
