Job summary

StarRez, Inc. is seeking a Product Owner to drive end-to-end delivery of software workstreams in a SaaS environment. You will bridge Product Managers and engineering, own user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog, and help deliver high-quality software to market.

You will lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Design, QA, and Customer Success, while aligning with the product roadmap and organizational goals.

About The Role

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of product workstreams, acting as the bridge between Product Managers and the development teams.While the Product Manager focuses more on leading the relevant product vision and strategy and generating impactful roadmaps, your role will be to ensure flawless execution of that body of work in conjunction with your Product Engineering team. That includes owning requirements and Acceptance Criteria, grooming the backlog and helping deliver quality software to market.

Additionally, you will own and lead well defined projects, as agreed with the Product Manager, to deliver incremental value toward the Product and Technology department’s goals. Ultimately, the Product Manager and the Product Owner collaborate to deliver world class outcomes for our business.

What You Will Own

Backlog Management & Prioritization

• Own and manage the product backlog for your assigned product or workstream.
• Collaborate with the Product Manager to understand product goals and ensure backlog prioritization aligns with strategic objectives.
• Clearly define user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements in collaboration with the engineering and design teams.

Delivery Execution

• Maintain alignment with the product roadmap, ensuring backlog items are prioritized and executed in line with roadmap goals.
• Identify and independently own well defined initiatives, as agreed with the Product Manager, ensuring successful delivery of these workstreams.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Coordinate with Product Managers to gather business requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to ensure all executed work aligns with the product vision and strategic outcomes for the area.
• Actively engage with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Design, Quality, and Customer Success.

Refinement & Continuous Improvement

• Assist backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, and retrospectives, continuously improving processes and team effectiveness.
• Support all relevant agile processes that the team follows, ensuring high levels of collaboration and accountability.
• Analyze and incorporate feedback from users, Quality, and internal stakeholders to refine features and improve outcomes.

Product Quality & Value Delivery

• Collaborate to ensure the delivered product increments meet quality standards and deliver value to users.
• Track and report on key delivery metrics, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring alignment with product goals.
• Ensure proper documentation of delivered features and support the go-to market process in collaboration with Product Managers.
• Work with the Product Manager to determine optimizations to live features and incremental work that may further enhance the delivery of outcomes.

Required Qualification

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, or similar role in a SaaS environment.
• Strong understanding of agile product development frameworks, including Scrum or Kanban.
• Proven track record of managing complex product backlogs and delivering high impact features on time.
• Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and QA.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey requirements and priorities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset, with the ability to break down complex problems into actionable solutions.
• Experience working closely with Product Managers to translate strategic goals into deliverable tasks.
• Familiarity with product management and development tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Miro etc)

Preferred Qualification

• Experience working in B2B SaaS, particularly in Property Tech or Housing.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification.
• Understanding of user-centered design principles and product discovery techniques.
