What you'll build
The mission of Regional Product Marketing is to champion the voice of the markets and showcase the value of SAP’s solutions in a locally‑tailored and competitive way, helping prospects and customers achieve optimal business outcomes. It’s a global role acting locally, founded on in solutions and markets.
We are looking for a highly‑motivated Regional Product Marketing Manager with domain expertise in cloud software and subject matter expertise in procurement or finance. This role demands a strategic thinker who can understand the strategic direction of SAP’s Finance and Spend Management solution area, collaborate with cross‑functional teams locally, and drive go‑to‑market initiatives from concept through delivery, adoption, and continuous improvement.
Detailed responsibilities and deliverables for Regional Product Marketing include:
Act as Subject Matter Expert for the local market
- Have a deep understanding of a local market and its total addressable market (TAM), sales obtainable market (SOM), competitor landscape, customer sentiment, technology innovations, partner ecosystem, start‑up environment, etc.
- Be able to represent the market to internal stakeholders, upstream and downstream, and the solution area value and vision to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Always be aware of latest market information across global and local listening systems.
Understand and apply the market opportunity and competitive resources
- Define, and draw actionable insights from the total addressable market, sales obtainable market, market share, pipeline attainment, growth opportunities, and competitive resources.
- Create and maintain an annual regional product marketing plan, working in close partnership with local and global stakeholders.
- Identify and connect innovation built by Product and Engineering (P&E) teams to activate field teams’ ability to deliver greater customer value and/or competitive differentiation.
- Identify under‑performing product offerings and leverage insights to partner with stakeholders to deliver incremental cloud pipeline, greater customer value, and/or competitive differentiation.
- Based on subject matter expertise, collaborate with local stakeholders to provide feedback on product innovation and Build/Buy/Partner decisions within a solution area toward maximizing SAP’s growth.
Ensure excellence in the customer journey via programs and resources
- Define, lead, collaborate on, and execute programs and resources to maximize customer engagement and progress through the customer journey, helping SAP attain its goals for both total cloud pipeline and budget/forecast attainment.
- Support local stakeholders and global product marketing teams to ensure the quality and completeness of content, programs, and resources used across the customer journey.
- Be a key contributor to bringing Sales Plays to market and planning Integrated Demand Programs (IDPs), in close alignment with demand management, marketing, and all other relevant stakeholders and adjacent functions along the digital customer journey.
- Monitor demand generation KPIs for your solution area, understand what is and is not working, and why. Communicate gaps and opportunities to global product marketing based on continual learning.
Understand the product / feature release, announcement process, and communications for your solution area
- Review the solution area’s Semester Plan and quarterly roadmap to identify innovation which may help local stakeholders achieve their goals for both total cloud pipeline and budget/forecast attainment.
- Once the product/feature achieves release readiness, understand the customer value and competitive differentiation for all new product and feature releases.
- Be prepared to articulate customer value and competitive differentiation to stakeholders in sales, marketing, partners, customers, prospects, user groups, etc.
- Exhibit excellent storytelling skills and ability to clearly articulate SAP differentiation in your product area.
- Be capable of localizing the global product/feature value positioning and messaging framework that guides all downstream content creation, based on local market dynamics.
Understand and be able to articulate the Marketing Plan for your solution area
- Align with local and regional counterparts during the annual planning process, including opportunities for Regional Product Marketing to add value.
- Understand the annual global marketing plan and its growth priorities, audiences, marketing investment strategy, marketing mix, and marketing tactics to meet the annual growth and adoption objectives.
- Work with local and regional colleagues to support SAP events and third‑party Industry events, as appropriate.
Understand and be able to articulate the Packaging, Pricing, and Licensing plans for your solution area
- The packaging, pricing, and licensing for each specific solution.
- Any Product Supplement or on‑going changes.
- Proactively support packages that span across multiple product areas toward maximizing SAP portfolio revenue and growth.
Define and deliver field activation for your solution area to achieve total cloud pipeline and budget/forecast attainment/current cloud backlog goals
- Identify the solution area activation needs and priorities for field roles with a market unit.
- Identify and connect field roles to existing field enablement channels and content as the primary means of solution area activation.
- Where necessary, source, create, and/or deliver decision‑maker‑level content for solution area activation for field roles with a market unit.
- Understand and identify existing always‑on content to continue to keep up with the latest innovations in your solution area.
- Support the SAP Learning team toward successful delivery of sales training for SAP.
What you bring
Professional Experience
- Minimum of six years’ experience as a Product Marketing Manager within a cloud software company
- Subject matter expertise in procurement or finance
- Background in Asia/Pacific enterprise software markets and customer‑facing roles
- Proven experience equipping and supporting sales professionals
- Experience working with partner and reseller channels
- Exposure to small business units within large multinationals (preferred)
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or equivalent required
- MBA preferred
- Ability to pass a background check
Functional Expertise
- Skilled in defining product requirements and drafting business cases for Product Management within an agile roadmap process
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills for developing go‑to‑market packages and offers
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Ability to coordinate efforts across diverse teams to execute key initiatives
