You will be part of a global team and based in Chennai.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with strong financial control experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in formal and informal settings.
  • Experience with MS Office toolkit.
  • Strong control awareness and ability to identify and elevate control breakdowns.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present accurate financial statements and records in accordance with standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks; report to senior colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
  • Develop and implement up-to-date financial policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with IT to integrate financial systems with other enterprise systems.
  • Prepare statutory and regulatory reports and support audits.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities during audits.

Join Barclays as a Product control- Analyst role, where you'll play a pivotal role in working with Line PC team for completeness and accuracy of the books and records that comprises of P&L (Profit & Loss) and Balance Sheet substantiation and reporting. Your role will be responsible for monitoring trading activity for compliance with various related policies and providing management with technical and operational analysis of the business unit. You will have the opportunity of working closely with Front Office business, Financial Control, Technical Accounting Group, PC Change Management, Technology, and other infrastructure area. To be successful in this role, you should have below skills:

  • Experienced with MS office toolkit.

  • Qualified accountant.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings & ability to interact with the region and UK / US as part of a global team (written and verbal).

  • Strong control awareness – in particular, the ability to identify and elevate potential control breakdowns and to streamline processes in an effective and efficient manner.

Some other highly valued skills may include below:

  • Article ship / Industrial trainee in mid to large sized firms.

  • Audit exposure in large financial institutions / banks preferred.

This role is based in our Chennai office.

Purpose of the role

To manage the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting.

Accountabilities
  • Management of the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, and other accounting records in accordance with the relevant accounting standards, rules and regulations.
  • Support in identification,assessment,and mitigation of financial risks, and report on these financial risks to senior colleagues.
  • Development and maintenance of a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure that there is no fraudulent misreporting, and ensure the accuracy of financial data, including regular assessment of the effectiveness of internal controls addressing any weaknesses or gaps. .
  • Development and implementation of up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices across the organisation.
  • Management of the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and software applications, including collaboration with IT colleagues to integrate financial systems with other enterprise systems.
  • Preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory reports to authorities, and provision of support to other departments in their preparation and review of regulatory reports.
  • Coordination with external auditors and regulatory authorities in support of audits and examinations.
