We are hiring Principal Data Architect / Product Architect for a global software company based out of chennai. - 15 + years preferred ground from Microsoft, Amazon , Google , or similar enterprise technology/product organizations

The Role

We are seeking an accomplished Principal Data Architect / Product Architect with 15+ years of experience to lead the architecture and technical evolution of next-generation enterprise AI platform.

This role will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, cloud-native AI products and enterprise data architectures, translating complex business requirements into reusable technology platforms that deliver measurable business value.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in modern data architectures, cloud technologies, AI/ML, Generative AI, and enterprise SaaS product development, preferably gained through experience with Microsoft, Amazon, Google, or comparable global technology companies.

The architect will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, and business leadership to define architectural strategy, establish technology standards, and ensure successful platform development and enterprise adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end technical architecture for enterprise AI platform.
• Design highly scalable, resilient, secure, and modular cloud-native product architectures.
• Establish enterprise data architecture frameworks supporting structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Architect modern data platforms, including data lakes, lakehouses, data warehouses, and real-time data processing.
• Build reusable platform components, APIs, microservices, integration frameworks, and enterprise data services.
• Ensure architectural alignment between product capabilities, enterprise customer requirements, and long-term technology strategy.
• Architect enterprise-grade AI/ML and Generative AI solutions, including LLM-based applications and intelligent AI agents.
• Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, vector database integrations, embedding pipelines, and semantic search capabilities.
• Establish AI agent orchestration patterns, model evaluation frameworks, and integration with enterprise workflows.
• Develop solutions to address hallucination reduction, contextual retrieval accuracy, model reliability, and response quality.
• Define scalable MLOps and LLMOps frameworks covering model deployment, monitoring, versioning, governance, and optimization.
• Evaluate foundation models, AI frameworks, and emerging technologies for enterprise product integration.
• Lead cloud-native architecture leveraging Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Design distributed systems, containerized applications, microservices, event-driven architectures, and API-led integrations.
• Establish architectural standards for scalability, performance, availability, security, and cost optimization.
• Guide engineering teams on Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevSecOps practices.
• Design secure integration patterns for enterprise applications, data platforms, and third-party services.

4. Product Architecture & Technology Strategy

• Partner with Product Management to convert product vision and roadmaps into executable technical architectures.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions, technology investments, platform capabilities, and architectural trade-offs.
• Establish reusable product frameworks and domain-specific accelerators to accelerate product development.
• Drive architectural consistency across multiple products, engineering teams, and customer implementations.
• Ensure the platform supports multi-tenancy, extensibility, interoperability, and enterprise-grade security.
• Contribute to technical feasibility assessments, proof-of-concepts, architecture reviews, and product innovation.

5. Technical Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as the principal technical authority for enterprise AI and data platform architecture.
• Collaborate with senior engineering leaders, data scientists, product managers, and enterprise customers.
• Mentor solution architects, data architects, and senior engineers.
• Lead architecture design reviews, technical decision-making, and technology governance.
• Engage with enterprise customers to understand integration requirements, architectural challenges, and deployment considerations.
• Influence technology direction through architectural recommendations and hands‑on technical leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Overall Experience

• Minimum 15+ years in software engineering, enterprise architecture, data architecture, or product/platform engineering.
• Significant experience in senior architecture roles involving enterprise-scale products or platforms.
• Proven experience architecting and delivering complex B2B SaaS, AI/ML, or data-driven enterprise platforms.

Data Architecture & Engineering

• Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT, data pipelines, distributed processing, and data governance.
• Experience with technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake, or equivalent data platforms.
• Expertise in modern data lakehouse architectures and enterprise data integration patterns.

AI/ML & GenAI

• Strong understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, RAG, vector databases, and agentic AI architectures.
• Working knowledge of AI orchestration frameworks and model evaluation methods.
• Experience architecting scalable AI-powered applications or products.
• Deep architectural expertise in at least one major hyperscaler: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, REST APIs, distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures.
• Understanding of enterprise security, identity management, encryption, compliance, and platform observability.
• Experience building reusable, configurable, and scalable enterprise software products rather than exclusively project-specific solutions.
• Ability to translate product requirements into architecture blueprints and technical roadmaps.
• Experience making architectural decisions that balance business value, technical feasibility, security, performance, and cost.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with Microsoft, Amazon or Google is strongly preferred.
• Experience building commercial AI, SaaS, cloud, or enterprise data products at scale.
• Previous involvement in platform architecture, architecture leadership, or Principal/Distinguished Engineer-level responsibilities.
• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, or similar enterprise AI services.
• Exposure to enterprise GenAI governance, responsible AI, and data privacy frameworks.
• Strong experience collaborating with global engineering and product teams.
