Job summary

AMD’s Emulation & Prototyping team in Hyderabad seeks an experienced engineer to own emulation/prototyping flows and collaborate with R&D and customers on FPGA prototyping and ACAP design enablement.

8+ years RTL design, pre-silicon validation, scripting (Tcl/Perl/Python), and strong communication and teamwork are required. You will develop training material and deliver customer-ready solutions across HAPS and Protium platforms.

Qualifications

• Must have 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Emulation & Prototyping flows and customer use cases.
• Strong scripting skills and ability to communicate complex topics clearly.

FPGA/Emulation & ACAP Compilation Tools

The Emulation & Prototyping (E&P)is in the Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group (AECG)— Application Engineering group, located inHyderabad, Telangana, India, for an experienced engineer to focus on hardware emulation platforms, FPGA prototyping methodologies, design enablement flows, tools specification, validation, documentation, and key customer support. As a member of a highly seasoned Product Development Engineering team, the successful candidate will work closely with several R&D teams, internal design teams, and tier-1 customers to improve emulation and prototyping flows, user experience, and productivity, enabling the next generation of high-performance computing designs across AMD's UltraScale, VersalAdaptive Compute Acceleration Platform (ACAP), and SoC device families. Daily activities will include the following duties:

• Minimum of8+ yearsof relevant experience
• Own Emulation & Prototyping product area and become the future team champion to work on high-impact projects and with key customers.
• Drive critical customer escalations to closure and contribute to new emulation and prototyping technology rollouts.
• Contribute to triaging reported issues across E&P product areas, such as hardware emulation flowsFPGA prototyping platforms, design compilation, and help engineering address them effectively.
• Actively explore innovative emulation and prototyping methodologies and their impact on flow and design practices for current and next-generation AMD SoC and Versal ACAP device families.
• Develop and deliver training materials on new emulation/prototyping features, platforms, and methodologies.

• Customer Awareness:Has excellent working knowledge ofRTL based design flows, pre-silicon validation expectations, and emulation/prototyping customer use cases.
• Product Knowledge:Has good working knowledge of the entire FPGA or ASIC design process and tool flow, with intermediate-to-advanced understanding of the Emulation & Prototyping domain, including hardware emulation platforms and/or FPGA prototyping systems (HAPS, Protium). Scripting experience (Tcl, Perl, Python) is desired.
• Design Enablement:Has good understanding of design methodologies for Emulation & Prototyping flows
• Problem Solving:Ability to handle and solve complex system-level issues across emulation, prototyping, and pre-silicon validation environments.
• Technical Communication:Can simplify and communicate even the most complex subjects, making options, tradeoffs, and impact clear. Can report out to management in a concise and actionable manner.
• Teamwork: Able to work with several teams across sites and domains with a positive attitude under variable workloads.
• MS or equivalent work experience in Electrical Engineering or similar technology area.
