Position Objective:
To provide technical and administrative support in vendor management, rate negotiations, material finalization, and coordination of procurement activities across projects. The role involves ensuring technical compliance, cost-effectiveness, and timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical & Commercial Support
- Evaluating technical specifications, drawings, and BOQS for procurement requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, projects, and site teams for technical clarifications and requirement finalization.
- Prepare comparative statements (technical and commercial) for vendor quotations.
- Ensure all materials and equipment conform to the approved specifications and standards.
- Vendor Coordination & Negotiation
- Liaise with existing and new vendors for quotations, clarifications, and negotiations.
- Support in vendor assessment, qualification, and performance evaluation.
- Maintain and update vendor database with current rates, credentials, and supply capacity.
- Follow up with vendors for timely submission of quotations and delivery schedules.
- Procurement Process Management
- Floating enquiries, preparing purchase recommendations, and drafting purchase orders.
- Coordinate with internal teams for approvals and documentation as per company procedures.
- Monitor rate revision and contract renewal.
- Track procurement schedules to ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Data Management & Reporting
- Prepare MIS reports, procurement status trackers, and management dashboards for review.
- Maintain records of negotiations, approvals, and correspondence systematically.
- Preparing presentations, summaries, and analytical reports for management review.
- Coordination & Communication
- Act as a liaison between the procurement department and project/site teams for issue resolution.
- Coordinate inter‑departmental communications for smooth procurement operations.
- Provide administrative support, including meeting scheduling, document control, and follow‑ups.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: B.E. / B. Tech (Civil / Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent. MBA in Supply Chain Management preferred.
Experience: 3-6 years of experience in procurement or technical coordination, preferably in construction, EPC, or infrastructure sector.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of material specifications, construction equipment, and vendor processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (SAP / Oracle /etc.).
- Good analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
