Job summary

Rotehügels in India is seeking an experienced Process Engineer - Anode Casting to oversee the copper anode casting section, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production of high-quality copper anodes for electrolytic refining.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of experience in copper smelting or non-ferrous metallurgy, strong knowledge of furnaces, casting wheels, process control, and experience with SCADA/DCS systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in copper smelting, anode casting, or non-ferrous metallurgy.
• Knowledge of melting and holding furnaces, casting wheels and mould maintenance, and process control/instrumentation.
• Experience with SCADA/DCS systems preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and optimize the anode casting wheel and associated equipment.
• Monitor furnace temperatures, molten copper quality, and casting parameters.
• Ensure anodes meet dimensional, weight, and quality specifications.
• Coordinate furnace charging, skimming, and metal transfer operations.
• Monitor cooling systems, mould conditions, and casting cycle times.
• Troubleshoot casting defects and implement process improvements to increase productivity.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with the maintenance department.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Maintain production reports, process records, and KPI dashboards.
• Support commissioning and continuous improvement initiatives.
