Job summary

Ernst & Young LLP ( EY India ) invites applications for the FS-RC-MS-EY Comply And RVS-Private Credit Fund Accounting-Staff role. You will support fund accounting and reporting cycles, from NAV production to financial statements, while collaborating with senior team members and stakeholders.

The position emphasizes high-quality work, autonomy over time, and ongoing development in fund operations and AI-assisted tooling within EY’s Enablement framework.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in Asset management sector; exposure to US-based assets is a plus.
• Master’s degree in accounting or finance is advantageous.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interact with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in accounting records for Private Credit Funds per standards and procedures.
• Record NAV-related transactions and income items.
• Support NAV calculation processes monthly/quarterly/annually.
• Perform cash/bank reconciliations and investigate items.
• Reconcile investments, balances and realized/unrealized gains/losses.
• Prepare investor reporting files and financial statements.
• Support capital calls, distributions and allocations.
• Identify automation opportunities and coordinate with teams.

Opportunity

Open position for a staff role in fund accounting for one of our Global clients.

You will support the fund accounting & reporting cycle, from NAV production to financial statements, preparing deliverables and reconciliations while working closely with senior team members, liaising with stakeholders, and building strong technical foundations across fund operations.

You will be responsible for executing tasks with increasing autonomy, applying sound judgment within defined parameters, and contributing to team outcomes. You are expected to demonstrate initiative, resolve routine issues independently, and support junior colleagues.

You will anticipate and identify risks within engagements and share any issues with senior members of the team. In line with EY commitment to quality, you’ll confirm that work is of high quality and is reviewed by the next-level reviewer.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accounting records for Private Credit Funds in accordance with applicable accounting standards and pre-defined procedure.
• Record transactions related to loan drawdowns, repayments, interest income, fees, PIK interest, realized / unrealized gain and loss.
• Support the monthly, quarterly and annual Nav calculation process.
• Perform cash and bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Reconcile investment positions, loan balances, accrued interest with portfolio managers & custodians.
• Assist in the preparation of investor reporting files, funds financial statements
• Support capital call, distribution and investor allocation process.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation and standardization initiatives.
• Co-ordinate with internal teams, auditors and stakeholders to resolve queries.Ensure adherence to internal controls, regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of AI concepts and approved AI tools.
• Uses AI responsibly to support day-to-day work while complying with organizational policies.

Skills and attributes for success

• 1 -3 years of experience in Asset management sector, Exposure to US based asset management or fund administration firm will be an addon
• Experience with software tools including document management systems, workflow systems, partnership accounting, investment accounting such as eFront, Investran, Yardi, or other investment sub-ledger software / Eagle / Geneva Proficiency in Fund accounting and financial reporting, Investment accounting, financial statements process, regulatory and statutory reporting, management and financial reporting, consolidation reporting
• Experience in operational aspects like NAV finalization, reconciliations, management reporting and investor reporting, reconcile investor capital balances and allocation of Profit & Loss.
• Strong grip on journal entries.
• Experience in Private Equity funds, Real Estate Funds, Private Credit Funds.
• General understanding of US GAAP and regulatory requirements is a plus.
• Master’s degree in accounting or finance will be an added benefit.
• Crisp and effective executive communication skills, including significant experience presenting cross‑functionally and across all levels.
• Understanding BRD would be an added advantage.
• Should pay attention to detail, proficient in MS applications (Word, Excel, Power Point), excellent analytical skills and must display effective interaction capabilities with various stakeholders.
• Ideally you will also – Have some exposure to fund structures across private credit and a genuine curiosity about using AI and automation tools in the reporting cycle.
