Job summary

General Mills India Centre seeks a Principal D&T Architect - BI to define and execute scalable BI architecture across Looker, LookML, BigQuery, and Tableau. You will lead AI-enabled analytics initiatives, establish governance, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver data-driven insights for business decision-making.

You will design enterprise semantic models, reusable patterns, and CI/CD processes, guiding implementation and governance of analytics platforms in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of total experience with 10+ years in BI architecture space including POCs, data engineering and data warehousing.
• Deep experience building enterprise semantic layers (e.g., LookML, Power BI DataMart/Composite Models).
• Strong communication skills to translate complex business requests into technical requirements.

**OVERVIEW**The Digital & Technology team at General Mills India Centre is seeking a passionate Principal D&T Architect - Business Intelligence. This individual contributor role will partner with D&T teams, business functions, and operating units to define and execute BI architecture, delivering scalable, standardized, and user-friendly data visualization and insights solutions that support business decision-making. The role reports to the D&T Head/Sr. Manager and works closely with Enterprise and BI Architecture teams in an agile environment. **KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**### Product Design, Development & Analytics* Drive BI architecture, semantic layer strategy, and governance across Looker, LookML, BigQuery, Tableau, and related platforms.* Design scalable BI solutions, AI-enabled analytics, dashboards, metrics, and enterprise data models aligned with architecture standards.* Lead AI/GenAI initiatives including RAG, agent architecture, orchestration, knowledge management, and governance.* Establish reusable modeling patterns, KPI definitions, Git/CI-CD practices, testing, and change control processes.* Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges, optimize performance, and deliver user-friendly analytics solutions.* Develop prototypes, conduct technology assessments, and ensure compliance with enterprise standards and best practices.### Strategy & Collaboration* Translate complex business problems into actionable BI, semantic modeling, and AI-driven solutions.* Partner with business stakeholders and product teams to lead BI strategy, engagement, execution, and delivery.* Define enterprise standards, reusable frameworks, and tool rationalization strategies.* Lead POCs and technology evaluations considering scalability, security, performance, integration, and cost.* Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, establish key metrics, and drive data-informed business decisions.* Coordinate issue resolution, system improvements, and continuous enhancement of BI capabilities.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*** 15+ years of total experience with 10+ years of relevant experience working experience in Business Intelligence Architecture space (POC, technical assessment, Infrastructure ecosystem, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing)* Deep experience building enterprise semantic layers (e.g., Power BI DataMart/Composite Models, Cube.js, dbt Semantic Layer, LookML).* Strong communication skills, capable of translating business requests into technical requirements and articulating the pros and cons of different technologies, platforms, design, and architectural options.* Proficient in data and analytics tools and services preferably in Google Cloud Platform **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Thought-driven leadership to successfully deliver scalable team management and business solutions.* Knowledge of latest Business Intelligence landscape and other programming language is a plus.* Takes the initiative to do the right thing - doesn't walk past a problem.* Consultant mindset - able to challenge with courage and influence upwards and with peers.* Agile learner - has passion and curiosity to learn new things and understand the \"why
