Job Description

This role will be based in Bengaluru, India.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• You will build and ship software, drive architectural decisions and implementation across distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
• Develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user‑centric applications that operate 24x7.
• Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
• You will actively improve the level of craftsmanship at LinkedIn by developing best practices and defining best strategies.
• You will lead cross‑team/cross‑functional discussions and drive alignment on product/technology strategy.
• You will define the bar for quality and efficiency of software systems while balancing business impact, operational impact and cost benefits of design and architectural choices.
• You will act as one of the primary domain experts to influence technology choices.
• You will lead by example to build a culture of craftsmanship and innovation.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 18+ years of experience in software design/development.
• 18+ years experience in/with programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Experience with object‑oriented design, coding, testing patterns, and programming languages (Java, C++).
• Proven coding skills in a high level language with interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
• Experience with large scale automation across key enterprise personas.
• Proven track record of leading and delivering complex software projects.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Experience building web applications and services with IDEs, ant, Junit, etc.
• Experience with relational databases (transactional and non‑transactional), database architecture, and distributed transaction management.
