GlobalFoundries is seeking a Principal STA Engineer to lead signoff timing convergence within the Physical Design organization. You will own SoC-level signoff STA and drive robust co-optimization strategies to achieve benchmark PPAS targets.
You will develop and maintain dashboards, automate STA flows using TCL/Python/Perl, and collaborate with RTL Design, Verification, Physical Design, and DFT teams to ensure design convergence.

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal STA Engineer to serve as the technical authority for signoff timing convergence within our Physical Design organization. This role requires deep expertise in STA, strong hands‑on execution, and the ability to define and drive shift‑left signoff strategies. You will collaborate closely across teams on constraints, optimization, and timing analysis to ensure predictable, high‑quality SoC closure.
Perform all duties in a safe, responsible manner while supporting all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS) programs.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 12+ years of hands‑on STA experience, shift left strategies for predictable signoff. Ability to define, implement, and mature tools and methodologies starting from a blank slate. Adept in SoC level MCMM STA, generation of physically aware ECO generation, supporting GLS etc Familiarity with advanced process nodes, DFT timing modes and analysis, and IP integration. Strong scripting experience (TCL, Python, Perl) for flow automation and debugging. Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication and cross‑team collaboration skills.
Experience delivering custom silicon for automotive, HPC, or AI applications. Proactive adoption of new tools, flows, and design‑reuse best practices. Highly detail‑oriented, quality‑focused, and committed to on‑time delivery.
