Job summary

Skillsoft Hyderabad team is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership, guide architectural design, and mentor engineers in delivering scalable enterprise software for learners worldwide.

You will work with Java, Node.js, React, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, AWS, Kafka, and related technologies in an Agile environment, driving high-impact projects across co-located teams in Hyderabad, the US, and Europe.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of software engineering experience in cloud-based enterprise solutions.
• Strong coding skills in Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS.
• Proficiency with frameworks: Spring Boot, Node.js, React, Redux, Angular, Express.js.
• Expertise in REST APIs, Web services, and SAML integrations.
• Experience with databases (Postgres preferred).
• Hands-on with DevOps tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, AWS.
• Skilled with Git-based workflows (GitHub, GitLab, etc.).
• Experience in messaging queues: Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• Strong understanding of design principles, patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Comfortable coding on Unix/Linux environments.
• Familiar with build automation tools: Maven, Gradle, NPM, WebPack, Grunt.
• Strong troubleshooting ability for bugs, performance, and environment issues.
• Awareness of security concerns in high-volume, public-facing systems.
• Experienced in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
