Job summary

Piramal Pharma Limited in Gujarat, India is seeking a Senior Research Scientist-R&D to lead advanced synthetic strategy development and drive innovative methodologies. You will design multi-step routes, analyze data, and ensure regulatory compliance while mentoring a high-performance team.

Collaborating with ADL, QA, EHS, and SCM, you will manage multiple projects, communicate with clients, and deliver milestones with scientific rigor and safety in a fast-paced CRO environment.

Qualifications

• PhD or Postdoc in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry.
• 8–12 years of industrial CRO experience.
• Experience leading multi-step synthetic routes and driving innovative methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of complex multi-step synthetic routes and novel methodologies.
• Mentor and train team members; collaborate with ADL, QA, EHS, and SCM to align research efforts.
• Act as primary technical contact for clients; manage milestones and ensure high-quality, timely results.

Job Description

Advanced Synthetic Strategy Development

• Lead the design and implementation of complex multi-step synthetic routes, including the development of innovative methodologies for challenging organic transformations.
• Utilize critical thinking and advanced technical and analytical skills to independently address and resolve complex challenges in synthetic chemistry and assay development.
• Propose and implement innovative research strategies, actively contributing to scientific publications, patents, and presentations at conferences.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of experimental procedures and results, preparing detailed reports that contribute to knowledge sharing within the organization and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and process improvements within the lab, leading initiatives that enhance research productivity and effectiveness.
• Adherence to safety regulations, quality assurance, and environmental standards, leading efforts to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment.

Team Leadership and Development

• Mentor and train team members, fostering a collaborative environment while ensuring the team meets productivity targets and maintains high-quality standards in research outputs.
• Work effectively with other departments (such as ADL, QA, EHS, SCM) to align research efforts with organizational goals, driving synergistic outcomes across projects.

Comprehensive Project Management

• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, managing communications, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the delivery of project milestones and quality results.
• Oversee and coordinate multiple research projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with strategic objectives while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Essential Qualification

• PhD/Post Doc. in Organic Chemistry /Medicinal Chemistry 8-12 years of industrial experience in CRO Set-up
