Extreme Networks in Bengaluru is seeking a Principal QA Software Engineer to validate end-to-end solutions across modern data center and 5G networking environments. The role blends manual and automated testing to ensure high-quality IP fabric-based solutions.

You will develop and maintain Python and Go based automation frameworks, design test plans for L2/L3 networking, EVPN/VXLAN, and work closely with engineering, QA and product teams to enable robust, scalable releases.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for complex networking solutions (L2/L3, IP Fabric, EVPN/VXLAN).
• Validate 5G and data center architectures, including integration, scalability, and performance testing.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks using Python and Golang.
• Perform manual testing for new features, exploratory validation, and edge-case scenarios.

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Test Engineerto validate end-to-end solutions across modern data center and 5G networking environments. This role combines manual and automated testing, ensuring high-quality delivery of IP fabric-based solutions through robust validation frameworks developed in Python and Go (Golang).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans and test casesfor complex networking solutions (L2/L3, IP Fabric, EVPN/VXLAN)
• Validate 5G and data center architectures, including integration, scalability, and performance testing
• Build and maintain automation frameworksusing Python and Golang
• Perform manual testingfor new features, exploratory validation, and edge-case scenarios

  • Protocols: BGP, EVPN, VXLAN, TCP/IP
• Experience in 5G technologies(Core, RAN, or transport network validation)
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Test automation frameworks
  • Linux systems and scripting
• Proficiency in:
  • Packet analysis tools (Wireshark, tcpdump)
  • Debugging distributed systems and network issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines(Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
• Exposure to cloud-native and container environments (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Knowledge of network virtualization and SDN
• Familiarity with test frameworks (pytest, Robot Framework, custom frameworks)
