Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Principal Network DevOps Engineer to join the Global Network Engineering team in Bengaluru. You will lead AI-powered networking automation, design intelligent platforms, and advance enterprise-grade automation across network and cloud infrastructure.

You will architect and implement AI-enabled solutions using LLMs, RAG, and knowledge workflows, collaborating with Security, Architecture, Cloud, and Operations teams. The role emphasizes automation, scalability, and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience designing AI-driven operational platforms and automation for networks and cloud infrastructure.
• Strong background in networking, cloud fundamentals, and software engineering.
• Experience building AI-powered systems with LLMs and agentic AI for enterprise use.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-driven operational platforms and intelligent automation solutions for network and cloud infrastructure
• Build AI-powered assistants, decision-support systems, and operational intelligence capabilities
• Design autonomous and semi-autonomous workflow orchestration with multi-step reasoning
• Build AI-powered troubleshooting, diagnostics, incident triage, root cause analysis, and operational insights
• Implement enterprise knowledge retrieval and RAG capabilities across enterprise sources
• Develop conversational and self-service experiences using modern collaboration and communication platforms

In this role you will lead the transformation of traditional network operational processes into intelligent, AI-driven, autonomous, and self-improving platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong networking and cloud fundamentals with deep software engineering, Infrastructure-as-Code, enterprise integration, and hands‑on experience building Generative AI and Agentic AI systems that drive measurable operational outcomes. You will design, develop, integrate, and operationalize AI‑powered solutions that use Large Language Models (LLMs), enterprise knowledge systems, intelligent workflow orchestration, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize network operations and engineering productivity. You will partner closely with Engineering, Security, Architecture, Cloud, Platform, Operations, and Business teams to build scalable, secure, resilient platforms and to drive enterprise adoption of Agentic AI capabilities. The team is crucial to the design & deployment of a consistent, stable infrastructure that both meets network engineering design standards and product goals. You will participate in cross‑team and organizational projects, designing, documenting, and implementing new, secure, and automated networking and AI‑enabled operational solutions.

• Implement enterprise knowledge retrieval and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities, including context-aware systems that retrieve, correlate, analyze, and act on data from multiple enterprise sources
• Develop conversational and self-service experiences using modern collaboration and communication platforms
• Design human-in-the-loop approval workflows for operational, governance, security, and risk-sensitive activities
• Implement AI observability, evaluation, monitoring, governance, auditability, and lifecycle management capabilities

Network & Platform Engineering

• Improve and engage in the entire lifecycle of a network, including inception, network design, qualification, deployment, operation, and optimization
• Work on implementation of Autodesk’s Global Networking backbone strategic infrastructure initiatives
• Define and drive the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for Autodesk’s global network and cloud connectivity platforms
• Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards
• Design and develop scalable automation frameworks using Python, APIs, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar), and modern automation technologies
