Agilocrats Consulting Private Limited seeks a senior cloud leader to anchor AWS modernization efforts inside SaaS environments. Ground architecture in what teams can ship, surface sequencing gaps, and participate in AWS Partner conversations at the Select Tier level.
You will be the senior technical anchor, focusing on architecture over hands-on delivery, mainly within SaaS settings where cloud spend must be justified by business value.
Former Principal Engineer, Chief Architect, or Staff-level cloud leader to anchor AWS modernization work inside SaaS companies. You ground architecture in what the executing team can actually ship, surface sequencing gaps before they cost six months, and sit in the AWS Partner conversations the firm's Select Tier journey runs through. Cloud-fluent. Tool-skeptical. No hands-on build.
Most AWS modernization programs do not fail in the architecture diagram. They fail in the gap between what was designed and what the team can actually build in the order it was designed. This role exists to close that gap - for our clients, and as the firm's senior technical anchor in AWS Partner conversations.
You will spend most of your time inside SaaS companies where the AWS bill is climbing faster than business value, where modernization is somewhere between intent and shipped outcome, and where the engineering organization needs an honest read on whether the architecture matches the team. The work is technical, but it is not implementation. We are not a delivery factory. The firm operates one level above that, and so will you.
What the day-to-day actually looks likeReview modernization plans against the executing organization's real capacity to ship them. Force re-sequencing where required
Produce written architectural diagnoses that hold up in front of a CTO and a board, not just an engineering room
Anchor cost-to-value traceability on cloud spend - tell clients honestly when the AWS bill is buying outcomes and when it is not
Carry the firm's AWS technical credibility in Partner conversations: ACE registrations, joint sessions with AWS Solution Architects
Hold a minimum of three current AWS certifications, including one at Professional or Specialty level. Renewal and Specialty pursuit are sponsored
Co-publish technical pattern observations under your byline - modernization war stories, sequencing failures, cost-vs-outcome reflections
What you will not doWrite production code on client systems. Own a CI/CD pipeline.
Run a cloud delivery team.
Function as a Solution Architect-for-hire on a standalone AWS project.

The firm's pipeline is founder-led; you contribute technical credibility, not pursuit.
Who you will be in the room withClient-side: CTOs, VPs of Engineering, Principal Engineers, Chief Architects, Cloud leads. AWS-side: Solution Architects, Partner Development Managers, Partner Solutions Architects.
Internal: the founder, the Senior Partner, and the AWS Partnership Lead.
What good looks like a year inThree to five modernization-anchored engagements delivered. One or more AWS POC Fund or MAP-funded programs anchored through your work. Three certifications minimum, with a Specialty in pursuit or complete. Technical credibility established with at least two AWS APJ Partner Development Managers - measured by inbound, not by LinkedIn connections. One published technical piece per quarter. And zero engagements where we drifted into client delivery responsibility.
Who we are looking forTwelve to twenty years in software engineering, with the last several of those at Principal, Staff, or Chief Architect level. You have personally anchored at least two AWS modernization programs end-to-end, and at least one of them slipped - and you can describe honestly what you would do differently. AWS Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent depth is the floor. A Specialty cert is preferred.
You design with the team in mind, not just the architecture. You write clearly enough that a non-technical CEO can act on your diagnosis. You are comfortable telling a client, in writing, that their modernization plan is sound but unsequenceable, and explaining what to do instead.
Who this role is not forCloud engineers looking for a hands-on AWS role. Certification collectors without scar tissue. Architects whose default pattern is "lift, shift, optimize." Anyone whose pitch is AWS expertise rather than execution-grounded architecture. Solution Architects from resellers looking for a softer seat. Anyone who needs the firm to be a cloud consultancy.
